Nakon 9 sati ne pre neugodne vožnje stigoh do tog dijamanta na obali crvenog mora. Naravno već na stanici su me čekala dva gospodina iz Sigurnosti za dobrodošlicu. Nakon pregleda dokumenata uputio sam se u potragu za hotelom. Iako nisam nigdje vidio nijednog stranca to se pokazalo ne baš lakom misijom jer su navodno svi hoteli bili puni. Kad sam konačno našao jedan ne prejezivog stanja odlučio sam se baciti u istraživane toliko hvaljenog grada. Na prvu nisam vidio ništa osim velikog brodogradilišta. No odlučio sam pričekati jutro pa se baciti u šire izviđanje. I tako sam na karti izračunao gdje bi trebao biti put prema „otvorenoj plaži“ i krenuo tamo. The only way to claim you have dived the world…is simply…to dive around. My first try at the Red Sea was back in the summer of 2008 on a live-aboard, for a week of diving in the South of Egypt out of Marsa Alam diving places like Daedalus. At the time, I found the experience pretty average. Since that day, I have also dived out of Aqaba in Jordan, another rather average experience, but one which is easily enjoyed before or after the magnificent Wadi Rum or the wonders of Petra. Aqaba is a perfect dive trip for a day or two… But there is more to the Red Sea. I have dived Djibouti, but that’s not really anymore the Red Sea.
