This afternoon Paul was able to take me for a game drive. Soon after leaving the lodge we came across a small Leopard Tortoise that was in the middle of the road. Paul decided to pick it up and move it off the road and onto the grass. We then had a very close sighting of a Southern Yellow Billed Hornbill. I like these birds because they are not shy and very curious.

We then came across a couple of zebra. Soon after, the drive became exciting when we saw a male and female lion. We then noticed another two lions in the grass – one female and one male. We spent half an hour watching these four lions. At one stage they started walking away but then stopped a short distance away.

The lions were now inactive, so we drove on. Our next sighting was a herd of impalas and blue wildebeest.

Further along we came across a crash of three white rhinos. On their sides I could see many scratches, it must be from walking amongst the prickly bushes.

We were now on our way back to the lodge and along the way we kept an eye out

for the lions we saw earlier on. The pride was now lying in the grass. We sat for a few minutes to see if anything was going to happen. A few minutes later, three of the lions sat up and all looked in the same direction. The female got up first and walked off into the bush, the rest then followed her. The bush was too thick, so we couldn't follow them, instead we went back to the lodge.
