Visiting Elephants

This afternoon while I was at the hide, many elephants came to visit. They walked right past me and drank from the waterhole. One of the them decided to walk through the water inside of going around. They had a great time splashing and drinking. Another herd came along and one of these elephants started to play fight with one from the herd that was already here. It was a very gentle fight. Before I knew it, they all walked away.

I took the time to look through my photos and in between doing so I looked up and saw a Brown Hyena walking along. It didn't stop to drink- just walked by. I didn't think that there would be much more happening this evening, so I went back to the staff village.

This elephant came from another nearby waterhole- he is all wet.

After getting wet at another waterhole- it has come here to drink.

Maybe he is scratching behind his ears?

15 Unwanted
The latest elephant (wet one on the right) seems to be unwanted at the waterhole.

16 Playing
These two are having a bit of a play fight.

17 Gentle
This play fight seems quite gentle.

18 Game Over
This play fighting game appears to be over.

19 Off They Go
The herd walks away along the road.

20 Follow the Leader
The older one leading the small ones away into the bush.

21 Big Ones and Little Ones
The end of the herd as they leave the waterhole.

22 Brown Hyena
A brown hyena that ran past once the elephants had left.

23 Hyena
The brown hyena that didn't stop to drink.
