Views from the Wetland

This afternoon once I had finished work I went with Paul for a drive to Derdepoort Gate. We had to pick up staff who were returning from leave. When drove out of the wetlands we stopped to look at a male Comb Duck. This duck has a knob on its beak- surely this must affect its vision?

We continued on to the gate. On the way back from the gate we came across a male lion just close to the lodge. He was walking away from us along a game path. We drove further along. Now he was walking parallel to us. We could see that he had been injured next to his right eye, probably from a fight. When we could no longer follow him, we went back to the lodge.
