Hi Everyone,
Here they are, a few pics of the widlife in Africa. It was tough picking only a few, as you can imagine I have a ton of them, when you are 10 feet away from an elephant or a rhino, one suddenly turns into a Japanese tourist and can't stop firing the camera!
The game drives were incredible, whether in the morning (wake up call at 3:30 am!) afternoon (searing heat) or evening (the perfect golden light - a photographer's paradise). A few of us, especially Franz and Stefan were really good at spotting wildlife, which can be tough with the tall grass and dust.
We saw 3 lions but they were a bit far and I was not able to snatch a picture. I am sure I will get more shots in Botswana! Cheetahs were nowhere to be seen, they are tougher to spot in Kruger and we were told by the local ranger that he sees one every four months or so.
Elephants are really easy to photograph: they are huge, move slow and stand out in the landscape quite well! They are just amazing and I never got tired of looking at
them. We found ourselves late arriving at a lodge in Kruger Park (gate was closing at 6:30 pm) because we were held up by a herd of elephants on the road (we thought one of them was about to charge) - Our guide left a message at the lodge explaining why we were late and I thought how cool this was instead of "we are running late, because there was an accident on 101"!
I know that the little ones, Cattarina, Gabriel, Nattalia, Jacob, will be delighted to see these pictures. This is the real deal kids!
Enjoy!
Isabelle
Bonjour a tous,
Voici quelques photos d'animaux. Selection difficile parmi tant de photos...Ca represente les principaux animaux que nous avons vu. Il faudra attendre le Botswana pour une autre chance d'apercevoir un lion ou une cheetah.
A bientot,
Isabelle
