The Columbian Trade and the Triangle Trade affect current foods and culture because those trades were like the origin of where most of the foods we eat came from. Therefore, without those trades, we would not be able to have all the food opportunites that we currently have.

A recipe that my mother make is vegetable fried rice which includes the following ingredients:

2 tablespoons oil for stir-frying
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 cup frozen corn or peas
1/2 red bell pepper, deseeded, diced
3 1/2 cups previously cooked scented rice
2 teaspoons soy sauce or to taste, or thick soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, or a combination
Black pepper, to taste
3/4 cup cashews
1 green onion, finely chopped
Salt to taste, optional

1) The origins of this dish is Africa, which is why my mom enjoy cooking this dish.

2) Our family identify with this recipe because both of my parents were born and raised in Nigeria, which is part of Africa.

3) People should have a variety of foods because it helps people understand other people culture. Also, it makes you understand where people come from and the stuff they eat.

4) Food is an aspect of people's culture because food can define a person. For example, you can guess someone's origin based of the food they eat. Food helps you live and shows who you are
