A day spent exploring the nearby Namib Desert during two interesting and at times exciting 4x4 vehicle expeditions.

The morning was spent in the coastal dune belt driving through untracked sand and locating a surprising amount wildlife in what appeared to be a lifeless environment. They call them the ‘small five’!

After lunch we went inland along miles of remote tracks first over ridges and along canyons in the stark hills of an area known as the moonscape and then amongst the vegetation of the dried up Swakop River.

Before we came we had booked a table at the recommended Tug Restaurant and they served six of us with a delicious fish dinner in the evening.
