Surprise!

On our free day our guide offered us a day trip to Alexandria I jumped at the chance to see the library and the location of the lighthouse one of the ancient wonders of the world it is now a fort built with the original stones here is a photo of our group


Nubian Village

last night we enjoyed a homecooked meal in a traditional Nubian Village here we are in the school house learning about Nubian history



Abu Simbel

Despite Mummys Tummy I managed the 3am (!!!) wake up for thepolice convoy to the temples in Abu Simbel Amazing colossal buildings that still have some of the original colors tonight we get on the riverboat



River cruise

we are sailing along the Nile ina 5 star boat at least they call it that views of nile river life pass us by workers in traditional galabyas using animals as equipment definitly a step back in time ! Here is a picture of our boat going thru the lock



Red Sea

we have just arrived in the red Sea Coast town Hurghada . our hotel has balconys overlooking the pool and a huge lobby. the beach requires a pass thru a metal detector and a ticket. just one step further than searching for metal on the beach with a portable I guess. By now we are templed out anyway. Here we are at the temple of Hatcheptsut
