I was an engineer on a long term assignment, first in Dubai and then in Qatar. During this time, I took advantage of my nice paycheck and proximity to other places to start seeing the world. Short Visit to Cairo...
It seems that nothing has changed since my visit in 1983. I stopped over in Cairo for two days on the way from Bangkok to Germany anod had the same itinerary as you. The airport was terrible then. The worst problem was boarding the plane with no order...300 Germans boarding at once!

Will the museum ever open
We were in Egypt in 2017 and it was due to open in 2020. I'm sure it will be spectacular. The antiquities and history are positively endless. Thanks for taking us along.
