How much time do you spend browsing the Net?

Topic Type: Information
Some of us may have acquired an addiction to Net surfing. So, how many hours a day do you spend glued to your PCs?

When not traveling, I am sooooo addicted to reading Travel Blogs. I can easily spend 3 hours a day -- and I do it in such a way that I am "multi-tasking" among my emails, moderating duties, playing games, and checking out travel photos. How about you?

I spend more time online than I should... in quiet moments at work I tend to read the British papers online, check in on TravelBlog, read the sports news... and of course Facebook!

If I count in the time I spend on Facebook, it will sound like I have a regular 9-5 job.

I always go to work with the idea "if it's a slow day I'll write a blog/email some friends I haven't seen for ages/do something productive" - then I get lost in sports news or Facebook and end up not doing anything worthwhile. I should spend more time on TravelBlog's forums, that's something I really enjoy.

I have no clue how many hours I spend on the internet. I usually alternate using the internet with the other stuff I do during the day. I read a lot of travel stuff, world news and politics, and psychology on the internet. And there is all the time I spend on booting spammers out of TravelBlog.

I dont know if I am an addict or not, but I think the internet is amazing. All that information at my finger tips, and being able to talk with people all over the world everyday. I am old enough to remember how slow communication was before the interenet.

Somehow, I think of addicts as those who participate in unhealthy activities on the internet such as trolling, letting the internet prevent them from attending to important areas of their lives, engaging in too many mindless exchanges such as those available on Facebook for sending waving bunnies, high fives etc to people, sending chain mails with lists of jokes.....

I am obsessed with reading blogs, I am often quiet in work and can sometimes spend the whole 8 hours reading blogs. I just finished reading a blog that spanned 2.5 years in about 3 or 4 weeks and I am looking for a new one. I like blogs that give finance info e.g hostel costs, tour costs etc and I like blogs that are a couple as this helps me imagine my own trip. Any suggestions?

You could check out mine(!), but I'm not so big on finance info. Click on my recommendations on my profile page, there's a list of the Travelbloggers that I enjoy reading. Off the top of my head, Jabe mentions the practicalities of accommodation and travel...

Any suggestions?

There are lots of couple accounts here on TravelBlog. It may be worth posting a separate thread to ask couples to post a link to their profile pages and maybe an account of where they are and have been travelling. And then maybe another thread to ask people to post links to blogs which list costs.

Looking for New Blogging Talent

Here is a thread where we post which bloggers we enjoyed reading. Maybe you would enjoy some of those too. And be sure to post any discoveries you make yourself.

Nominate a Blogger to be next weeks Unknown Blogger of the Week.

This is a thread where we nominate good bloggers with fewer than 3 recommends, and then promote them to help get their blogs on the Front Page. If you discover any good bloggers with fewer than 3 recommends, would you post them there.

Internet is where I escape to.I haven't counted but it could be anywhere between 5 - 6 hours. Reading travel Blogs, and other Blogs in the net and also a lot other forums on a range of topics and of course online dating.Does anyone else check out online dating sites by the way ?

Dear Mell

I have no clue how many hours I spend on the internet. I usually alternate using the internet with the other stuff I do during the day. I read a lot of travel stuff, world news and politics, and psychology on the internet.

The above reminded me of myself..

And there is all the time I spend on booting spammers out of TravelBlog.

Are you in anyway officially associated in maintaining TravelBlog website ? Or is it that you have been made moderator by virtue of the 11,000 + forums posts you have posted ? ?

How long can you go OFFLINE while you are awake?
If I am travelling or out of the house, I can do it all the time.

I never tried to do it, while at home, because I woudnt see the point.
