With all the talk about internet addictions these days and crime on the intenet, does this make the internet more bad than good? What do you think?
I love the internet. I havent really got over the fascination of being able to speak with people who are all over the world all in one day and the endless information at my finger tips.
And it is proving a very useful tool these days for political activism.
But, I do think it is important to use the internet wisely for information and socialising and networking. Nothing wrong with playing games and other fun things, but I think people should be careful to not neglect their families, job, their other healthy hobbies.... for it. I think there is something about the intenet that can be harmfully addictive if it takes over a persons life and causes them to neglect all else.
Also, I think the internet has another down side. It is often a toy or tool of trolls, spammers, criminals.

I love that about the internet too.
Also, when my daughter was a baby my boyfriend was away for 3 months looking for a job one time. I couldnt go out anyplace in the evenings after my daughters bedtime so I was home alone every night. Being able to chat on the internet with people was great.
And I love that the internet provides cheap entertainment and a cheap way to socialise, so I can save more travel money.
And there is the speed of it. When I am at the other side of the world I can send a message to my boyfriend in seconds.
Reply to this Can I tell u something? I worked my a.... off for 27 years, so into my banking career. I have retired from the scene for some time now, but I actually spend more time now seated in front of my laptop than I ever did when I was still working! Bad for my a..... but yes, I love the internet. And I obviously enjoy reading other blogs and as you said, traveling the world while sitting in my bed.
