Israel. I am a devout Catholic who prays the rosary daily. Going to Israel made me pray each mystery in the rosary much much more meaningfully as I can visualize where it actually took place.

For me it has to be india
the reason is that it is so alien to anything we've seen before, the diversity is amazing and that is not jsut the scenery but the people too! the food has to be the best as well! Reply to this

For me it has to be my solo trip. I was 16 years old and left Quebec and went to New York for 3 months. One of the best part of my life and one of the only moment I can truly say it change my life and made me what I am right now.

This trip is the reason why I like traveling. I felt free like I will never be able to feel like again in my life.

Swakopmund in Namibia is definitely somewhere I could settle down! Botswana is such a beautiful country, the people are lovely and their customs are so humbling. Tofo in Mozambique is a gorgeous little town! Reply to this

I agree with Monica Jaime. I also like New York I've been there 2008. They have lots of beautiful places to visit there. I was so amazed with the Empire State Building. And when you are nature lover the central Park is the best place for you. Reply to this

Its funny you ask this because it is, without a doubt, the most frequently asked question I get. My wife and I have traveled a great deal and are always asked, "So, which place did you like the most?" I finally wrote a post on my blog entitled "The Most Beautiful Place In The World" to answer just that question and explain why. My choice is the Ngorongoro Crater National Park in Tanzania. Check out the article to read why. Reply to this

What I've seen so far of Rio de Janeiro, including tranquil Paraty where we took a boat with a wonderful crew and guitarist who played beautiful bossa nova. I fell so in love with Brazil (the people, music, food, etc), I'm studying Portuguese for when I return. Reply to this

I love Islands particularly Tropical ones! I know everyone loves to go and explore an island, but the feeling of remoteness and being surrounded by what i love the most (the ocean) just makes me unthinkably happy

If i was to pick my favourite place in all the world, it would probably change every day, as i get different favourites depending on how i feel at the time.

Right now, the best place i have ever been to, is Lady Elliott Island, 80km off the coast of Hervey Bay, Australia. It is the southern most island in the great barrier reef, extraordinarily beautiful. For a small island, it is inhabited by over 300,000 seabirds during nesting season, hundreds of Turtles during nesting season, resident mantas, and of course all the coral, sea cucumbers, Jacks, Sharks, you could shake a stick at. I've been to many islands, but this one captured my heart. I remember landing in Lady Elliott island, and being like a child on christmas morning, not knowing where to start, being so excited about every activity. This island was built for me! Reply to this

I have loved just about everywhere I have been, but the places that were truly memorable for me were Cumberland Island, Mexico, Antarctica, the Peruvian Amazon and the middle of the Southern Ocean. Reply to this

Someone asked the question the other day, “What’s the best place you have ever been?”. I wasn’t sure how to answer that. It’s kind of like asking “What’s the best piece of bacon you ever ate?”… Tough call…

I have seen my fare share of the planet in my travels, and by that I mean I have barely scratched the surface. And each area has its ups and downs, good and bad, beauty and sorrow. The overall experience of travel should be felt and I think almost mandatory for all humans. Mark Twain said - “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness” and it’s true. Okay, I am getting off topic…

It came to me with total clarity about 3 days later, “The best place I have ever been” and ironically enough I cannot even tell you the name of this place, but I can tell you the memory.

When I was 8 years old my father and grandfather and family friends took me on a trip up to a cabin in Canada. I do not know the name of the area we were in, I do know there were no roads, or any other cabins, only a train that came by once a week on the single track in front. The cabin was up on a hill on one side of the tracks and an empty ranger station in a large field on the other.

This was my first and one of my only encounters with nature undisturbed by man. I remember sitting on the back stairs 30 minutes or so after we arrived. As I was sitting there I heard a little noise and looked around. There not 6 inches away from me was a chipmunk. He looked up at me and I down at him. I had never seen a chipmunk that close before. I put my hand down and he came and smelled me, ran over my hand and up my leg to perch on my knee. We looked at each other for about 30 seconds and then in a blink of an eye he skittered away.

I found this behavior in many of the animals I encountered this trip including squirrels, rabbits, dear, animals you are accustomed to running from you coming right up and saying “hey, what up?”.

Only years later did I realize how special this experience really was, how rare it is to find animals that have not learned to fear the sight of a human. I think that most of the animals I interacted with were more curious than anything else. I imagine them thinking “What an odd animal that is over there waving at me… I wonder what it is? …I’m gonna go take a look”.

I have been in situations where animals have been desensitized to humans from exposure and humans feeding them when they shouldn’t. This was not like that at all, and for me one of the most precious of all the memories I posses.

Sadly both my father and Grandfather have passed so the location of this magical place will forever be but a memory. Suffice to say, it was in Canada, some 30 years ago...

This is a tough question because you seem to be looking for "one". On any given day I could answer this question differently.

Antarctica-- I spent 5 months working there and when I stepped off the plane I knew I was in the right place to do the internal work that needed to be done. Vast beauty and it makes you appreciate freedom.

Peru -- is a land of enchantment. I cannot describe the feeling at Machu Picchu - something spiritual stirred inside. Watching the grand condors fly at the Colca canyon brought tears to my eyes, flying over the nasca lines makes you question the universe and Lake Titicaca is surprisingly beautiful.

Laos- is one of my favorites. An amazing little country, lush and green and kind people.

Greece is one of my all time favorites. I love the love of life, the zest and the beautiful architecture. The music makes me happy. Reply to this
