Birla Temple is one of the Seven wonders of Hyderabad city constructed by Birla family. A quarter century ago, they built a temple in Hyderabad entirely in marble brought from Rajasthan and dedicated it to Lord Venkateswara. The construction of the temple took 10 years and it was consecrated (Solemn Dedication) in 1976.

It is built on a 280 feet (85 m) high hillock called the Naovath Pahad on a 13 acres plot. The temple, built on a hillock called Kala Pahad, one of the Naubat Pahad twins.

I spent three weeks sailing through the island chain, diving, sailing, swimming and eating (and a little drinking). It was remarkable and picturesque.
No wonder they called it "The Best Job in the World"
