It may sound very ambitious; I want to travel overland from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia in 7 days (roundtrip included). This all is planned from Monday, 19th January to Sunday, 25th January, 2009.

1. Is it realistic to execute my plan within only 7 days?
2. I want to go by bus, what is the best route to follow?
3. What accommodations on route can be recommended?
4. What else can you recommend?

Look forward to fair answers.

Hi,

need to really double check...as Buenos aires to Bariloche is 24 hours...if you want to do the round-trip, you'll spend your time in the bus...not sure that's a great idea. They have great buses...the seats look a little like old business class seats on planes. So you can have a pretty good level of comfort.

Wouldn't do it personnally. But if you really want, do a one way and back by plane...or extend your stay.

Have fun!

Peter

This is an old blog but I'm replying incase anyone reads it for information.USHUAIA IS A MUST.1 of the most beautiful places on earth.I travelled down from BA to Bahia Blanca on the train then got bus to Puerto Madryn, then bus to Rio Gallegos .I then travelled down on a local bus to Ushuaia.Bus arrived in town in the evening so I got a room at a hostel up the hill. The next day was cloudy and wet, couldn't see much but looked around and researched boat trips ect.Next morning as soon as I opened my eyes n saw out my window if I wasn't laying down I would have fallen over.Beautiful.It would be possible to do it in 7 days but I'd take another month off work n do it properly. Not far away is Calafate and the Moreno Glacier.I could write forever .I love South America Reply to this
