On an overcast but mild morning on Tuesday 29th Apriland with the threat of heavy rain and strong winds we said goodbye to June & Tony and headed off at 9.30am towards Mallacoota and for whatever God had in store for us. The weather forecast had indicated that the heavy rain would arrive in Traralgon by early afternoon, but we were heading away from it and should encounter some rain by late afternoon. We travelled along the Princes Highway stopping at Lakes Entrance where the temperature was a mild 24 degrees for a well-earned break, a nice hot cuppa and a lunch of sandwiches we had made earlier in the morning. After lunch we continued on our journey stopping at Orbost which is 219 klms from Traralgon. We had booked into the Orbost Caravan Park for ... read more

The countdown to the start of the next phase on our Journey of Faith started on Friday 25th April. On a very cold and clear morning in Traralgon where the temparature dipped to zero we watched, on TV, services held around Australia to honour those who had given their lives in protection of our freedom and way of life. The services especially remembered those who gave their lives at Anzac cove in Turkey 99 years ago. LEST WE FORGET Later in the morning we headed off with June and Tony for a bike ride and in contrast to the early morning the temperature had risen and gave a fine mild sunny day just right for riding. We drove about 30 minutes out of Traralgon to the small town of Boolarra and the start of the 'Grand Ridge ... read more

It's now been six weeks since we returned from our wonderful 6 month experience in the UK and we, the car and the caravan are ready to go. We have been attending St James Anglican Church in Traralgon which is lead by Cannon Jeff Richardson. The services have been traditional from the prayer and hymn book and the sermons have been very thought provoking. We have provided Cannon Jeff with a write up of who we are, what we have been doing and where God is sending us, well as much as we understand at the moment and we have added Cannon Jeff to our Blog updates. On Tuesday 15th April we hooked up the caravan and headed off to Hastings to share Holy week with our family, friends and congregation. Once again Rosie and Greg ... read more

After a couple of days recovering from jet lag it was back into preparing the caravan for its journey to whatever destination God sends us to next. As Holy Trinity Nomads we have completed our first Journey, 6 months in the UK, and what an amazing Journey it was, how good is OUR God. Sunday 16th March saw us attend June & Tony's church, the Traralgon Reality Christian Fellowship, it's always so special to share worship with them and there congregation. On Monday 17th March we hooked up our caravan and headed for the local caravan retailer to get the roof resealed, before we left we had noticed a small leak when the rain was heavy so instead of trying to find out where the leak was and fix it, it was easier and will provide ... read more

As mentioned in the previous Blog on Friday 7th March we met up with our two friends from Tea Cosies, Carmel & Jan, and enjoyed coffee and lunch at the 'Next Door Cafe' our favourite coffee shop in Albrighton. Following lunch it was off to the Non Denominal 'Women's World Day of Prayer' at St Josephs Catholic Church in Albrighton for 2.30pm, with just over 50 people in attendance, including 3 men. This day of prayer is held all over the world starting in the Pacific islands and making its way through each time zone until it ends in American Samoa, the service was very special and it was a privilige to be part of the actual service. Saturday 8th March saw us at the Manor with Bob, Paul & Christina for dinner and what a ... read more

On Monday 25th Februarywe were invited to attend a meeting of East Shropshire Progressive Christianity (ESPC) which is part of the Progressive Christianity Network Britain (PCNB). These progressive groups meet to discuss all aspects of religion and the bible. They are not for everyone and it was interesting to sit and listen and understand that there are people with different and differing views from ours. Most of the people who attended are members of different Anglican congregations over the Shropshire area and some travel up to 40 miles to attend the monthly meetings at St Marys church centre. Our final week in the UK is one that sees us as busy as ever. Sunday 2nd March started off with something a bit different when we saw some sheep just outside the cottage, Bob does not have ... read more

We are now at the start of spring here in Albrighton, the days are getting longer and the weather has changed, well on some days, we now get longer spells of sunshine and less blasts of cold wind. The spring flowers are starting to bloom with lots of daffodils, snow drops and crocuses appearing along the road side as we continue our walking. We are also getting ready for a change as our time here comes to an end. It's a sad time because we have to leave but also a time of anticipation and excitement as we not only wait to see how God uses us next but we get to return to our family and friends in Australia who we know have missed us as we have missed all of them. It will be ... read more

On Friday 21st February Pauline and Nick Hill from St Chads (Pauline is the Church warden) took us on a 'Hills' tour to the Black Country Museum. The Museum is located in Dudley near Wolverhampton and is a Living Museum. It is a remarkable place to explore, and you can enjoy spending some time in a landscape of 26 acres. It is one of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK; offering a glimpse into 200 years of history like no other. They tell the story of a very special time and place in history and of some of the most hard-working, ingenious and influential people you could imagine! The Black Country folk changed the world, and in the streets of the canalside village, or on our tramway or down the underground mine, ... read more

On Tuesday 11th February we had our first snow fall at Albrighton since we arrived. The morning started with heavy rain and then before our eyes it turned into snow, large flakes of snow like large pieces of white paper. Although at first the snow did not stick because the ground was wet it did eventually and we were treated to a white landscape. But it then disappeared as quickly as it arrived and we had a bright sunny afternoon. On our way to Tea Cosies for our weekly fix of tea, cake and chats the low lying fields and dips in the side roads were again topped up with more unwanted rain water. On Wednesday 12th February it was again a cold and wet morning but this did not stop us heading off to the ... read more

Friday 31st January was a very very wet and a very very cold day so we rugged up in woolly hats, scarfs, gloves and water proof coats and headed to Albrighton. First call was the library to send out the latest Blog page and say goodbye to Anne one of the librarians who had taken early retirement. The council run libraries here in the UK are suffering from severe cut backs as all councils struggle to contain rising costs and it is feared that some libraries may close or be amalgamated . Then after a nice Latte we headed to St Marys to help out with the monthly 'One Day' sale before heading to the 'Red House', which is a community facility that hosts a variety of events, where we enjoyed a great meal of homemade ... read more
