Well it's been some time since I've added an update to this blog! Time has flown by and we are currently less than 90 days from starting our epic adventure. In the time since our last post we have managed to book just about everything save for the small Big Bus Tours and Museum entries, but these will be done in the next 3 - 4 weeks. So as an update I've been very fortunate to be able to book our return flights from Europe using Qantas Points yet again. This time however we have upped the game and Gretta and I have been able to secure 1st Class tickets aboard Emirates, but more on that later. On my last entry I had just given a basic outline of our trip as we had no way ... read more

Well this will be my account of our Holiday that Gretta and I have planned as a celebration for not having having to pay anymore School fees. We have been able to put our 2 boys through the Kings School. We decided that we would take a holiday for ourselves seeing as we have sent both of the boys to Europe with School for History Tours. We started planning this way back in July and came up with a rough itinerary that would tick off a few places for both of us. In total we will be abroad for about 5 weeks, which is a long time but at the same time such a short trip as we've had to limit where we go. The rough outline was to fly direct to London for a few ... read more

Anzac Day … 25 April – our country’s most solemn day of remembrance each year. A day when we honour those service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country – in all wars and conflicts – those who courageously gave up their tomorrows so that we can have the lifestyle and the freedom that we enjoy in Australia today. I was up at 3am in the pre-dawn hours as I had to be over at daughter, Natalie’s, home to meet up with the rest of our family, minus husband, Ted and son-in-law, Justin, who both had prior commitments which prevented them from attending the Anzac Day Dawn Service this morning that daughters Jenni, Natalie and grandchildren Erin, Adam, and 4 year-old twins, Luke and Olivia, and myself would be ... read more

My First Travelblog post, i guess its like poping my blogging virginity, not quite sure if its as satifying as most virgins experience on there first time but none the less it has been done. So not a lot happened this week. Spent a couple of nights in a Sydney hostel. Spent the days in Sydney looking around the Australian museum and art gallery. Both were really interesting. I also went and saw Harry potter at the IMAX which was amazing!!! The IMAX in Darling Harbour is suppose to be the biggest in the world, and they aren't lying. It was huge. Such a cool way to experience films. so not a lot happening in the week, but the weekend made up for it.... At last I can show you pictures of the kangaroos. We went back to see the roos on Saturday 20th and this time I took my camera. They were so sweet. One Kangroo even had a Joey in it's pouch, you could just see it's little tail ... read more

Thanks to good old Jetstar we boarded our flight to Sydney from Melbourne Avalon airport and before we knew it we had touched down in Sydney. I jumped on the blower to my old school friend Gav and he came and picked us up from the airport. Gav has been living out here for about 6years now so i havnt seen him for a very long time, but it didnt feel like that at all we jumped straight back into the old times. Gav offered to put us both up in his spare room in his appartment for the weekend but we ended up staying the whole week, it turned out to be one of the best weeks we have had away, felt like luxury sleeping in a real bed in a real house and they ... read more

Penrith, Australia - January 14th - 8:46pm Happy Birthday Lee!! Hope you have a great day! Today wasn’t much more eventful then the other day. I looked for a few jobs but they all want the applicant to be registered. So I’m in a little dilemma as to what to do. I have a few things to get at the mall so I’m going to walk down there and meet Jean when she gets off work. I walked into a nail salon to get my nails off and the little Asian lady asked me something and I told her I don’t understand so she pulled her co-worker over to ask me and I still didn’t understand. After careful listening I finally figured it out but it was rather funny. After much needed thinking, I’ve decided to ... read more
