TeamHandsome - Scott Amos

Im Scott and my partner is Katie, I have been planning this trip since i returned from Australia 6yrs ago, I now have a partner in crime in which to accompany on what is now officially OUR trip.
Our plan is to leave on the 1st may and hit up south east Asia for 3 months, take the normal loop and go to all 4 major countries Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. From there were off to Oz for a month then NZ for a month, Fiji for a few weeks. From there we fly to LA for a whole night, then the fun begins. We are flying from LA to Calgary and with the help of BUNAC we will be spending the ski season boarding everyday in Banff!

We have a years working visa for Canada and planning on working for 6 months throughout the ski season there and really getting involved in the seasonaires lifestyle. However that will be the only time we will be working, we have been busting our asses for the last year saving up plenty of cash so we can just doss for the first 6 months of travelling when we are seeing the rest of the world and live it up big time.

So i guess this blogg site will be a testament to our planning and initiative, so keep posted and check out our travels!

Kings of Foosball!

So im making up for 6 weeks of no installments................. We settled into the hostel nicely, our room mates Ben and Jarred were really sound guys, good job really as we were about to spend 2 weeks in a dorm with them. When you arrive for a ski season in a place like banff you are in the same boat as 90% of everybody in town is in. Sheep on the road!

We left you last time in queenstown just after the 440 foot plumet to death! After this saga we moved on down the coast and made it all the way to Milford sound, everyone knows this as one of the top attractions here in NZ. However to get there is an adventure to itself. We arrived in the south island around half 9 in the evening so we quickly found a campsite in Picton to crash at, the obvious choice again is the Kiwi sites as they are always cheaper and always a good standard. Day 1 We landed in Auckland around midnight and had no idea how to get anywhere or where to go, luckily for us they had one of those backpackers information boards in the airport that have the free phones so you can ring up and get a free lift to a motel or hostel, we phoned the cheapest one that offered a free lift and off we went. Hey folks so we left Rainbow beach midafternoon and due to the timetable structure of the ever great Greyhound services we had to stop in Hervey Bay and wait 4hrs for our onwards bus to Airlie Beach, this sucked major as we had nothing to do, so we decided to treat ourselves to a slap up pub meal with a few bevvies on the side, $80 later we were so bored so we decided to try and entertain ourselves by taking pictures of random signs. As part of the package with Peterpans agency we were gifted a free day trip to Nimbin and some surrounding areas, bit of a brucy bonus so we had a good nights kip after a heavy few nights with the Brisbane A-Team massive and rose in time to grab the tour bus right out in front of our hostel.
