Like King's Canyon, the Blue Mountains are also often referred to as Australia's Grand Canyon. Again, they are not a patch on the American version but they were spectacular none-the-less. The whole area is covered in a blue haze - hence the name - which is apparently caused by the evaporation of Eucalyptus oil. The main 'sight' - oh how very touristy - in the Blue Mountains are the Three Sisters. These are three spikes of rock which were formed when some witch cast a spell on three - wait for it - sisters. I can't remember exactly why such an extreme reaction was necessary, although it was probably due to an argument over some bloke or something. Hell hath no fury and all that!
