Day 15: We arrived in Seattle
Published: August 9th 2009North America » United States » Washington » IssaquahIt's Saturday. I woke up early, I believe it's the excitement to finally arrive in Seattle and see Brian again. And officially move in. We read that Portland OR has a beautiful arts market, but that only opens at 10 am on Saturday. So we go to the farmers market instead. And I have to admit that was a good decision. It was by far the best farmers market I've been to. We bougth fruit and tomatoes, all locally grown. Very delicious. 3 hours later we finally arrive in Issaquah (that's where I will be living), Brian welcomes us with a bottle of Prossecco. We are finally home....... read more
National Nudity, Global Unity: The Bare Buns Fun Run 5K up Tiger Mountain
Published: July 31st 2009North America » United States » Washington » Issaquah...Continued Sunday: Day 2 I looked out the window at a beautiful panoramic view; a city that shone with luscious light the day before, a city now shrouded in dark grey clouds. It was raining in Seattle and I rolled over on the couch, fully clothed, and reach out for the table. I felt for my phone, grabbed it and checked the time: 5:54am. In fact, it was pouring. And it was this serene rhythm that awoke me from a deep state of unconsciousness, one infused with the very essence of sleep, yet inhibited by alcohol. And I felt it. It was like a ramrod had just smacked me around. My head was spinning. My body weak. The butt, crotch and areas between terribly sore from the previous day’s url=http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Washingt... read more
Treehouse Point is located at 6922 Preston-Fall City Road S.E., Issaquah, Washington 98027. Pete Nelson began building treehouses in 1997. Today his talent takes him around the world to China, Bali, Okinawa, Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, California, and Oregon. Treehouses in his home state of Washington are located in Seattle, Tacoma, Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island, and Yelm. Most of Nelson's treehouses are built at the request of wealthy sponsors at a cost of $150,000 - $180,000. At Treehouse Point in Issaquah, Nelson has a lodge and two treehouses that will develop into ten custom-made structures. Guests walk over a suspension bridge to reach Temple of the Blue Moon Treehouse. It is a rustic red-cedar exterior that contains yellow-cedar window frames and a walnut floor. A queen-size bed rests on a frame of salvaged redwood. There's an incinerator ... read more
The Boy is Back In Town!
Published: August 24th 2007North America » United States » Washington » IssaquahA man of ordinary talent will always be ordinary, whether he travels or not; but a man of superior talent (which I cannot deny myself to be without being impious) will go to pieces if he remains forever in the same place. -Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Ok, I know that may sound a bit arrogant, but Mozart definately was. So anyway, when we last tuned in, Soarpheat was getting ready to go on a sea kayaking trip with Chris's girlfriend Ashley and her family. Having never gone on a trip like that, none of the participants knew what was going to happen, but each had their own ideas. However, the events that took place over the next several days were far different from even their wildest expectations. The first stop was the dealer of kayaks on Quadra ... read more
Hula girls gets into more mischief when the lights don't come on after five days. After a late night movie venture and mutliple thefts of "single???" signs, the po is on her trail. Pulling over in a deserted discovery parking lot to steal more signs, the po is quick in trying to uncover a drug bust. But where were the drugs? With a trunk of stolen "single???" signs for later endeavors, 'smooth' talking helped hula girl escape. With hula girl's quick wit, she realized her window was open and she had 'accidentally' dropped her keys out of the window. Looking on in skepticism, the po was positive she was on something; they just didnt know what. After hearing her explanation, and finding nothing incriminating, hula girl was released into the night to enjoy the cool ... read more
