OK...we made it to Anaheim :) We're truly in Mickey's Back Yard, and began working at the Anaheim Resort RV Park...if you're in the area, let us know!! We sell discounted Disney passes and are less than a mile from the park. There are LOTS of palm trees, and since we arrived on Sunday (10-24) the weather has been really gorgeous. I was outside reading this afternoon and can smell the ocean...can't wait to have a day off to trek over and get some sand on me again!!!

10-20-10 There is a laundry facility at the OK RV Park, so we got that started this morning and worked around the coach with a little maintenance...G checked the water level in the batteries, we changed the water filters, etc. I went back over to check on the laundry and met the nicest couple from Georgia. They have been on the road 10 days in their Lincoln pulling a tent-trailer. They have always liked to travel, so having recently retired, they decided to hit the road!! No generator, so they’re forced to stay at sites with hookups...unlucky!! She was used to always hanging her laundry outside on the line, so she was mystified by the dryer...she was trying to keep things from getting too wrinkled...I suggested she wouldn’t be so particular after a few more days ... read more

10-16-10 Got up and around a little earlier today, as we’re driving all day. Made it to just east of Oklahoma City, OK, where we found a nice casino parking lot!- thank you Fireside! We got some dinner and G played cards for a while. Long day, with another again tomorrow. 10-17-10 Up again early today and hit the road. Headed for Santa Fe...going to spend a night at the Ojo Caliente Spa :) Another long day, but finally made it a little after 7pm...thank you Buffalo Thunder Casino!! We parked the coach out back, then in for some dinner and a beer!! G played cards again, and I had an early night!! 10-18-10 Got some lunch at the deli at Buffalo Thunder and headed for our spa adventure!! We arrived up there around 2:30 and ... read more

10-12-10 Sad today...have to begin our trek west...excited about that, but will miss Nate entirely too much!! We left Charlotte when Nate went to work, so made it to Knoxville, TN to our friendly Walmart to spend the night. There were a couple of other rigs in the parking lot, so we had a regular campout!! There were storms in the area...rained on us through the Smokey Mountains, and a couple of pretty good showers while we were winding down for the evening. 10-13-10 Arrived in Nashville in the early afternoon. We called the Nashville Country RV Park to see if we could spend the night. They had room, so settled in the rig and headed downtown. Our intention was to go to the Capitol Records Street Party and then make our way to the Bluebird ... read more

10-5-10 Hung around the apartment until Nate left for work, then off to Lowe’s. We needed some boards to put under the jacks so we could level the coach at the Moose parking area. While it was really nice, it was grassy and a bit wet, so couldn’t put the jacks down without something sturdy underneath. Got that accomplished and over to Supercuts. Each time I get my hair cut, it gets a little worse...going to have to let it grow out for a while and start over...oh, well...was cheap!! Stopped at the grocery store to pick up things for dinner the next few days. G fixed chicken tacos and I made salsa. Had dinner on the table when Meg got home :) And warmed it up when Nate arrived...he works until 10:30, so it’s usually ... read more

9-30-10 Wandered over to the marina this morning. The couple in the trailer parked next to us was fishing off an old boat docked there. Turns out the guy who owns the RV Park also owns both that boat and Mr. Garwin’s personal craft...bright turquoise blue!! The couple was born and raised in the area. They spoke of the BP fiasco, and of course, hadn’t received a penny from them!! Sounded like BP was in Carabelle in full force and did make some payouts...didn’t sound like any of the locals actually received any funds, tho’...typical! Headed for the Georgia border just north of Jacksonville, FL today. A lot of driving, and when we arrived, we found out you can’t park overnight in their rest areas. Too far to head for Savannah, so finally found a Flying ... read more

9-29-10 Left the Moose Lodge in Panama City headed for Port St. Joe. We stopped at That Boot Store and tried on some things, but nothing was perfect...I've been looking for a new pair of "cowboy" boots since we left California...but the owner of the shop and his wife were really sweet characters!! He has worked in the shop all his life...his Dad started the business when he was 10 years old and it's still thriving!! They had been on an Alaskan cruise leaving out of Seattle, so had planned a week beforehand to check out Seatown...they loved it, so she told us all about their travels while I was trying on things...we have had SO MUCH fun visiting with folks all along the way... So...back on the road. Stopped along the side of the road ... read more

9-26-10 Raining as we got up this am, and left the Walmart parking lot. Decided we’d spring for an rv park stay today, so we could stay in and watch football. Turns out it stopped raining around 11am, but we watched football, walked on their little strip of beach and sat in their loungers on the beach and read for a while. Pretty low key day, but nice not to travel today. We were right on the bay at Navarro Beach, Fl. 9-27-10 Left for Fort Walton Beach today. We stopped at a park right on the bay...as we’ve noticed so far, the bays aren’t as pretty as the sandy beach, so drove over to Okaloosa Island...WOW!!! They call it the Emerald Coast, and it’s beautiful white sandy beach and gorgeous blue-green ocean. Saw dolphins swimming ... read more

9-25-10 Woke up to a major thunder experience, but didn’t result in much rain at all...only a couple of small showers. Then off to Pensacola. I followed in the car, as it was only about 30 miles. When we arrived at the local Walmart, we decided it was too much in the middle of town...which was much larger than I had anticipated...anyway, we ventured on to Gulf Breeze. Parked at the Walmart there and took the short drive out to Pensacola Beach. Fabulous!!! You could certainly tell that there were both a naval air station and an air force base (Pensacola Naval and Eglin AFB)!! Lots of short hair on the beach this afternoon!! I was surprised that the beach was so much more crowded than Gulf Shores which we just left, but we figured at least ... read more

9-22-10-10 Had one last walk on our deserted beach this morning and then headed for Gulf Shores, AL. Glenn’s Aunt Sue lived for some time in Gautier, so we tried to take a few pictures along the way to Pascagula. We stopped at the Visitor’s Center just after we crossed the Alabama line. The nicest grandma gave us our state map, then proceeded to tell us all of the good spots in the area...dining, attractions, etc. Turns out her son lives in Tacoma and her daughter in San Francisco. She said she’d take a ride back that way with us when we go :) Arrived at the Gulf Shores RV Park and set up camp. It is a small park, but everyone we’ve seen is really nice. We drove into town...it’s probably 5 miles...and stopped at ... read more

9-19-10 Spent half the day today trying to find an authorized service center for the air conditioners. The front one quit working entirely, and now the back one has developed a leak...not a good thing when the weather is over 90 degrees with about 85% humidity. Drove around to see if we could find a place that had football on. Ended up at The Dock Bar & Grill. It was right on the water, does, in fact, have a dock, so I could watch the boats while G watched football. It was located on the “back bay” of Biloxi. Then Glenn played cards for a bit in the early evening while I sat on the beach in my lawn-chair with my toes in the sand. 9-20-10 Called Mike at Power Source RV Repair this morning and ... read more
