This is a picture/back log of a trip my family and I took to South Carolina in August 2004. We went to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina. It was great, except I got a terrible, terrible sunburn (I had blisters! Ew!). It was so terrible I had to spend a day on a couch in the horizontal direction and could hardly move. By time we got down to Charleston, I could move (it was still painful) but I was so red that when I was in the Market, a little girl actually pointed at me and laughed. I looked like a lobster, I guess. Laughter aside, it was a great trip. Had a lot of great seafood and got to visit the place where my dad's side of the family is from. My dad was ... read more

Here we are in Charleston South Carolina. We feel like we’re truly in the south now. It’s amazing the differences we see after traveling only a couple of hundred miles south. Our campground is a real slice of the south and located in a swamp area. I know you are probably saying “euuhh… they are staying in a swamp????” but it’s not bad. All the trees have the Spanish moss hanging from them and we expect to see an alligator any minute (so far no luck, is that good or bad?) We did ... read more

Saturday, April 27, 2002 We (Brian and Michele) woke up bright and early (4:30 AM) to get on the road south to Vacation. Fripp Island, South Carolina was our destination and it was only 11 hours away! We had packed up the truck the night before to help ease the pain of the early morning start. We only stopped a couple times. During the trip it was cool to check out the “South of the Border” bill boards. We arrived at “Parks Place” condo at around 5:00 PM and unpacked the groceries and clothes from the truck. After we put them away, Brian showed me around the place. We walked down to the ocean and walked around the courtyard that was filled with flowers (and bees). Sunday, April 28, 2002 We (Brian and Michele) got to ... read more
