Well... We've been on the East Coast for almost a week now riding along the backside of a quite dizzying tornado... We got to spend some time with Benji's Family, and saw my Grandmother up in Canaan Connecticut. Today we spent some time checking out Jonah's sail boat... what a beauty!! We can't wait to take her out to sea!! For those of you who we didn't get a chance to spend time with on the East Coast, please know that you are most definately in our hearts... we just didn't anticipate our first weeks of homelessness to wiz by so quickly!!! Tomorrow we're getting back on the big white bird to Irvine where we'll spend a few days with my 'rents. We're getting VERY excited about our trip, but not so excited about the innoculations ... read more

Hello reader. I'm at the very front end of a life changing journey. I'll be leaving for Europe in about a week. Right now I'm preparing for my trip, doing some last minute chores before I can leave. I have bought most everything I'll need. I have a backpack, a nice camera, good shoes, a journal, a guide book, and, of course, cliff bars. I have been talking to people online using couchsurfing.com as a resource from which I can gain potential contacts in Europe. I'll be traveling by myself. My father did the same when he was younger. He would always tell me stories about his adventures in Europe, which only served to whet my appitite even more. I know that I'll have my own stories to tell. And I'll use this site to tell ... read more

Hi, I'm in Newport, Rhode Island visiting my grandmother (Amma) and cousins, and Uncle Arthur. The flight to Boston was super quick and easy. We took a walk around the ocean, and to the Newport Art Museum, which held some odd exhibits. One of which was the work of a photographer who's camera was always way out of focus: something about 'capturing impressions and feelings over actual images.' Leaving Newport early tomorrow morning (445am?) to take a bus to Logan airport in Boston, then to London, one night there and a short flight to Prague the next day. I'm finding no words, only writer's block, so i'll just post some pictures I took yesterday. ... read more

OK, OK, this is soooooo US, but Ape and I have a lot to finalize before heading out on the road for 3 months...lol. We were suppose to leave on Saturday, but the weather pushed us to Sunday...which we then realized we had even more stuff to get done, so here it is Monday! We have to make sure everything is settled on both ends with work, our car, the pets, hmmm....ourselves...lol. True, we have had close to a year to prepare...but...a'hem...I guess you can say we are procrastinators to the fullest extent! ;-) But we have sunny Florida to look forward to as our first stop and with that in the not to distant future all is well. Happy Travels! Des & Ape... read more

It is 9:20pm Sunday night and I just got through with a very great family dinner. My Mom, Elizabeth, Dad, Freddy, April and I (plus the pets) all enjoyed a delicious dinner cooked by April. It was nice to have my dad over. It has been 9 years!! Everything went perfect -- so, so nice. I can't believe I am only 6 days away from my 3 month road trip excursion. I am very excited...nervous...anxious. I just hope I am nice and healthy. Health really is everything. I am a 28 year old woman and here I am worrying about sore muscles, stomach aches, etc., --- YEAH, I guess I do need this time away. I will miss my pets sooooooo bad. That is going to be the toughest thing. To be honest I am not ... read more

9 more days and April and I will be heading out on the great open road for 3 months of exploration, learning and pure relaxation. To say I am excited is an understatement.....I am looking forward to working from the road, writing, meeting new people, experiencing new places, eating new foods, smelling new smells -- I think you get the idea! ;) From Florida's beautiful beaches to the excitement and intrigue of New Orleans to the Texas Panhandle and Santa Fe sky -- every little thing is making me excited. I can't wait to see Las Vegas. It has been a couple of years since my last visit and from what I heard -- it has gotten bigger & better (if you can imagine that)! Hey, there is a Margaritaville....soooooo I am THERE baby! :) I ... read more

I came to visit my sister in Brown University (summer school) but the only thing interesting about this place was the mall. I was there everyday, there was absolutely nothing to do. Duck tour looked like crap. They light these thingies outside the mall which was no big deal. The people were fucking rude, people in cars shout shit at you. At this point I hereby dislike America. What a sad place.... read more
