We had a late start to the day as we were so tired after yesterday and had breakfast in our room being yoghurts bought from the nearby CVC Pharmacy. We decided to take the Deuce bus to South Las Vegas premium outlet centre and it was only a short walk across the strip to catch the bus. We bought the unlimited 24 hour pass which cost $8- each. Another stinking hot sunny day around 35 degrees. I did not know what to expect at the outlet centre but I knew it wouldn’t be as good as it was when we were here for Christmas in 2010 when our currency was at parity with the USD (maybe even a little better) when we spent big here. 15th August, 2022 I got up early to call an audiologist to see if I could get my hearing aid fixed. I made an appointment for 11:00. We got a Lyft up there as it was a long way to walk. The audiologist was great and said that the receiver in the aid had failed and she easily put a new one in and hey presto all fixed. I can hear again. Sandra has wanted to visit the shop where “Pawn Stars“ is filmed. So, from the audiologist we set off on foot. Jeez it was hot. We got half way and saw a Cheesecake Factory shop so we stopped in there to get a drink and some lunch and to cool down a bit. We both had salads and no cheesecake. We set off again ... read more

10th August, 2022 We had been given a late checkout so we decided to have a bit of a sleep in. Went down to get breakfast just before they closed. Walked to the post office coz Sandra wanted to send some more stuff home. Bluddy hell, what a schmozzle that was. The hotel receptionist had given us a map to follow which did not match Google Maps GPS. We eventually found it. The man in the post office was such a nice man who helped us get the cheapest deal and with the immigration declaration, so we decided he deserved a koala key ring and kangaroo pin. Il est presque neuf heures ce matin quand on se réveille. Le soleil est déjà bien présent sur Las Vegas. On mange rapidement quelques cookies. Il n'y a même pas de quoi se faire un café dans la chambre, puis on sort de l'hôtel sur le Strip. On rejoint le Mirage, juste à coté pour prendre le bus. Las Vegas est encore bien calme comparé à l'agitation qu'on avait vu la veille. Bien sur, dans les casinos les joueurs sont déjà là. On prend le bus pour descendre au sud du Strip. notre premier objectif est le panneau de bienvenue de Las Vegas. malheureusement, on se trompe d'arrêt.
