This weekend we travelled to Baltimore, Maryland to see Infected Mushroom play at Palma Nightclub. Smitties bought the tickets and booked our room at the Hilton. He was supposed to come, but he had to work in Canada so he gave Toby the tickets and room as a birthday present. The show was great and the hotel room was fantastic!... read more

Interrupting your regularly scheduled seriousness for an update that shows how much of a geek I can truly be! And yes, Felix. I went to Otakon. :P What is an "anime convention"? I sure as hell wish I could give you a proper answer for that one. It seems to be a mishmash of different things all combined into three days of amazing, awesome, and complete insanity. The intended purpose is to gather people of a shared interest together so you can bond and meet other people just like yourself. But really, anime conventions have different meanings for different people. For artists, it's a way to sell and show off your art to a larger audience, as well as get your name out into the marketplace. For nerds, dorks, and other such geeks, it's a weekend ... read more

The subject to this entry has nothing to do with the entry itself, I just wanted something a little dramatic as an introduction: Currently listening: Hong Kong by The Gorillaz (for the incredible guzheng) Just listened: Leaves in the River by Sea Wolf Currently reading: Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk Just read: The Road by Cormac McCarthy I am in Columbia, Maryland, outside of Baltimore, lying prone in the front yard of Sam's uncle's house. The time is getting nearer where the trip takes some unique turns: Tim is going to Scotland for a week and a half and I am going to Oregon and Idaho for four weeks—flying out of New York and Boston, respectively. Driving from Indianapolis to Maryland, we stopped in Ohio to visit a friend at The Apostolate for Family Consecration Catholic Familyland. ... read more

Nov 7. Baltimore,MD Vitto had a busy day addressing all the damages caused to the boat by running it under the conditions that we did yesterday. The entire city of Baltimore is a Maritime Museum. It used to be a main ship maker in the past. The visitors can feel the history in the air. It is not a touristy port like Annapolis and that makes it much more interesting. It is historic and interesting. The maritime museum city has many faces. There are regular museums in every block of the waterfront but also there is a fleet of different types of ships that have been donated to the city by different entities to be converted into maritime self learning schools and interactive museums. All ships of the fleet are in pristine condition and open to ... read more

Nov 6. Chesapeake City, MD to Baltimore,MDNov 6. Chesapeake City, MD to Baltimore,MD 0633. Overcast this morning. Grey skies and light rain. At 0830 we hauled anchor and left Chesapeake City, MD. We continue on the last miles of the 23 nm long C&D canal. The generator was overheating so at 1030 we anchored on the side of the canal at 39 27.26N 75 58.51 to check it. Once anchored it ran with no problem. Vitto made his usual nice breakfast eggs, bacon, toasts with jelly and a hot cup of tea. It was great to have power again. This breakfast gave us the energy to get through the rest of the day that was about to come. At 1104 we were going around Turkey LT and at 1122 we were out of the C&D canal ... read more

June 21 - 24, 2007 I traveled for my first time to Baltimore for business. We had a two-day workshop on Saturday and Sunday, so we flew in on Thursday. Thursday evening after we checked in at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor, we headed down for a walk around the Harbor. All along the it there are vendors with lots of little knick-knacks, jewelry, purses, and all sorts of cool things. We made our way over to the Hard Rock Cafe where we sat at their outdoor bar and had a pre-dinner drink. The harbor seems to come alive at night. Once all of the dragon paddle boats are docked and the sun begins to set, the people just flood there to eat at one of the many restaurants. There was one place where you ... read more

Ann here -- Another one of those days that required two blog entries.... we left Anne's at 4:15pm headed for Baltimore... Phil put this wild thought into Rich and David's head the week before... the Orioles were playing at home on 7/13 at 7:05pm... Phil thought it would be cool for David and Rich to say they had been to Camden Yards.... plus, it really did make alot of sense... wait out the Friday night traffic while catching a game. True to all of the other tips Phil provided us, it was an AWESOME idea! It was a fast game against the White Sox. We had made the plan in the beginning to leave by 9pm... we left at the top of the 8th inning... Orioles leading 2-0 on two solo homers... remember our Yankees ... read more

hey everybody, its been a pretty crazy last week or so. Last week consisted of more training, it was long and tedious....nothing too exciting happened through the week. However myself and the 12 other kiwis did a haka etc etc for our cultural night and I had to do the porwihi and just could not stop laughing so was pretty funny! But everyone loved it and thought that ours was by far the best. I did not get photos only a video of it sorry! Fri we all finished work at lunch time then Alice, Shay and I drove into Baltimore meet up with a huge group of the others went to a baseball game, it was pretty mediocore...it was baltimore vs arizona, no one made any runs till the 5th inning.
