Sunday, September 30, 2012 Disembarkation went off smoothly. We did have to wait though in the bus for nearly 30 minutes before it left for the airport. Our 1:45 flight on British Airways left on time. If I ever fly across the Atlantic again I’ll definitely book on British Airways. Not only did we get a sandwich on a two hour flight, but the liquor is FREE! You’ll never see that on a domestic United States flight. Our American Airlines flight from London to Chicago left at 5:30, with an 11:40 scheduled arrival in Indianapolis after our connection at O’Hare. The connecting flight, however, did not leave on time. We finally touched down in Indianapolis at 12:30 A.M. With time changes, flight times, and delays, we had been up 25 ½ hours. We dropped the kids ... read more

Conner Prarie is everything the reviews say it is! Meaning: Its AWESOME!! My children learned so much and we only did half the things available to do. Theres so much. The animals are brought out so kids get close and personnel with the cows and sheep. All the charaters are great actors and teach so much while the kids are having fun. Wear comfortable shoes because you will walk a lot. All ages will have something to do.... read more

Our trip was really from the ridiculous to the sublime but I felt quoting Napoleon should be accurate....so first we camped in Illinois at Corps of Engineer Parks (ridiculous) and then off to Indianapolis for a Family Motor Coach Rally (sublime) of more than 2,000 coaches. We found some beautiful COE parks in Illinois to spend time in while waiting for the FMCA rally. Obama had spent wheel barrels of money to upgrade the parks. Electric was upgraded to 50 amp, which our coach appreciates. In two parks a 5,000 sq ft Visitors Center was erected which made the one (yes, one) ranger on duty quite comfortable. Oh, they also put in aquariums. So as seniors we can camp at $12 a night with full hookups. Thank ya'll for your stimulus tax money! Pheuuu! Hissy fit ... read more

We are a family that loves food! Everywhere we travel we want to taste things and we love to travel. Therefore, we love to watch the Foodnetwork channel to get ideas where to eat when we go to a new place. So far in Indianapolis we stopped at Edwards Drive-Inand had their chili dogs and pork tenderloin sandwhich. I think they we featured on Man versus Food with their GIANT pork tenderloin sandwhich. A good thing to know is that the root beer comes in a cold frosted glass which gets free refills. When its time to go you can get your refill in a to go cup filled again. We also checked out The Tamale place featured on Guys show. Their Tamales are huge! There's alot of variety made fresh everyday but you can only ... read more

Great Time at the Indianapolis Indians Baseball game! We love the dollar menu day: hotdog, popcorn, crackerjacks and peanuts. Not much action in the game itself but we can say we did a baseball game this summer. Walking aroung the White River park entace was pretty fun! Kids loved looking at the community garden and identfying the vegatables planted.... read more

The Medical Museum is not one of the more popular museums to visit in Indy but I found it to be an oppurtunity to see something diffrent. I imagine its because it is not as close to the other museums and does not get alot of publicity. The museum was actually a real housing facilty for the less mentally stable public. The patients unfortunatly were used for medical research. The museum is not a free roaming museum which means you will need to time your visit to a tour of the facility. When the building was turned over as a museum everything was left in place and has been preserved for years. Therefore you may not touch alot of the older tools and such on your tour. The museum has a room filled with real actual ... read more

A spontanious inventation to the 56th Talbott Street Art Fair proved to be a very nice expierence to see great art. This art fair is a very locally anticipated Summer event for collectors and artists alike. The art work is top notch quality that could easily be showcased in a gallery or expensive boutique. The atmosphere was friendly and pleaseant as the artist were happy to have you look at the work without pressuring you to purchase anything, giving you stress free time to take in their craft. The crowd was courtious with no pushing or rudeness, everyone seemed to have a mutual peaceful way about them. There was plenty of options for the usual fair type food. Which is good considering there is alot to walk and view and you will need to stay hydrated. ... read more

For years Ed has followed the Indy Car races. As a special Christmas gift I got Ed tickets to the Indianapolis 500 race. We had to race from the Overland Expo to make it in time. As part of the race package, we camped across from the race track. This was an event in itself. The fields are carved into individual camp spots. It was like a giant ant farm. Everyone moved in and set up their camp spots. There was furniture, couches and chairs, loud sound systems, bars and lots (I mean LOTS) of beer. We walked over to the Race track to watch the Historic Races. It is really hot! This will turn out to be the hottest Indy 500 on record. We toured all of the historic cars on display. It is an ... read more

Such a cool Place! I love this area! Did I mention "I LOVE THIS AREA OF INDY"? Just in case I needed to make that point stronger. I had no idea such a cool area existed in INDY, for this city its certainly a refreshing gem to find. Its hip and cool with a laid back earthy quality to the area. We initially went to see exactly what the Monon trail was because i read about it in an article. Which turned out to be a path that allowed for a peaceful stroll or bike ride. Then I found out that the bakery Renee was in Broad Ripple which made it sweeter. This tiny bakery is the closest I have been to comparable reak German styled bakery items. It may be small but there is alot ... read more
