Here are some more pics from my going away party for those that are interested. http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b181/Csamborsky_3/Glyns%20Going%20Away%20Weekend/ Well its Saturday morning and I finally have time to sit down and do an update on this thing. The flight out here went great but before I even stepped off the plan I knew I was in for an interesting trip. Do you know when you are flying into the airport and they give you the "seatbacks and tray tables" speech? At the Montreal airport they gave the French version first, uh-oh. So I get off the plane and all I hear is French EVERYWHERE. At the airport, on the bus, waiting for Nancy, Little Mikka I don't think we are in Kansas anymore! So after a bit of wandering I finally met up with Nancy and she looks ... read more

Well for the weekend we went to Montreal with all the internationals. We hired cars and drove up on the friday, went out for dinner that night at a nice place near our hostel. On saturday we walked around for most of the day checking out the city and then went to a really cool pub kinda like little creatures in freo, by our hostel and had beers, chips and gravy. was really nice. That night we went to a club called Living which was ok but i was pretty tired. Although having said that, caitlin gave me a hair cut and i ended up with an exquisite mullet! still got it now. On sunday we left the hostel - which was amazing - and headed out to the olympic stadium. Would you believe that australia ... read more

So, now onto stage 2 of Mission get Amy around the world! I managed to get myself to the airport on time leaving new york at 5:30am to make the train to Newark. Poor Pat had to lug my big pack pack across the city for me as I didn't have the strength with this flu! I got myself checked in and got selected for a random search at customs! They took swabs from my bags and shoes and put them through a machine, also had a body search-was a little scared! I got to Toronto airport and it was absolutely dead, nobody else around but a lady on a trolley! I asked about the shuttle bus to get me downtown but she was pretty useless and didn't help at all. When I got on the ... read more

Finally John is letting me write an e-mail entry. Unfortunatly he has said everything we have done thus far so there is not much more i can say really. So far iim having a fantastic time. Every town i go to i have to remind myself where i am. Its going to be hard getting home and back to work when at the moment my day consists mainly of waking up, eating breakfast, walking to we find a pub, and staying there till it closes or we get kicked out. So far my favorite places have been San Diego, Memphis, and driving through america. We put up 1600 km in 3 days, all the while listening to johns i-pod. Was really cool. ATM im writing from Montreal, Canada. It's a really cool little town. That works ... read more

This place is very Montreal - Daniel Deason 2002 That was a phrase used to describe the town hall hotel in north melbourne but i guess it could also be used to describe...well...Montreal...this place is very beautiful but also so so cold...the people here really don't speak a great deal of english but you can easily get by...and they don't seem to mind if you talk english to them...or not that we can tell anyway... yesterday we watched the Olympic Ice Hockey at a sports bar...and you know in australia when you go to the footy and you spend more time abusing your own players for imcompetance than actually encouraging them or congratulating them? eg...come on lloydy you f!@#ing girl, put your bloody body on the line!!...well they don't do that here...they are super super serious ... read more

Hey all you travel junkies and invisable friends out there. I have been here in good old Montreal for a few days now and damnit it is cold! Good thing this favourite city of mine has an underground city! Take that mother nature! Nothing like wandering around under the earth looking at lots of things I cannot afford, all while laughing at the poor suckers up a few metres freezing their butts off. Then I cry when it is my turn to venture out into the brave new world and walk back to the hostel. I swear Montreal is one of the coldest places on this planet, every time I come here it is cold! The hostel where I am at is nice and the people are great. I will be leaving though in about 4 ... read more
