A quick flight report for yeasterday's flight from Toronto to Montreal. It was only a one hour flight, but I was happy to learn that one flight a day on this route is operated by an Airbus A330 which they usually use for Transatlantic flights, thus it would give me the chance to sample the Air Canada longhaul business class product as well (or at least the seat). The daily departure is also scheduled conveniently at 5 pm from Toronto. Took a bus from downtown Toronto to Lester B Pearson airport and the brand new terminal 1 which opened just a few months ago. There was a bit of a traffic jam in Toronto as some head of the state was checking out of the city's most famous hotel Royal York hotel, so there were police ... read more

Hey there, right here is my first blog entry, some of you will probably have already read most of this as an email sent around a while ago but I thought I would put it all on my blog as well. Although I am going to concentrate on the stuff that I am doing now. Anyway here goes.... I made it to New York ok on September 11th..didn't see any massive security presence and trip was good. Then went by bus to Niagra Falls the following day and met up with my brother Owen who has been travelling around the world the other way for the past year. So we are travelling around together till next tuesday. Having seen the water falls.... pretty big 34 million gallons a minute.... apparently if all the coke ever sold ... read more

Its 3am, I'm drunk and the wind is blowing through my hair (I need a haircut), I'm about 2m from a huge speaker, and those city lights are twinkling below me. The overriding thoughts running through my head are, Montreal is awesome, exchange rocks and where can I get a kebab. I'm on top of the 2nd tallest building in Montreal, I though it was the highest, that attractive Dane girl was right damn it, and I can see Montreal laid before me all dressed up in lights. There is something beautiful about a city at night, especially when you are high up, you can look down and it looks almost as though the city itself is alive. I am in Club 737, an average club with a silly name, expensive drinks and offering one of ... read more

In August, I had to go up to Lebanon, NH for some meetings. Me being me, I couldn't just do the meetings, so I planned a few things before and after them. The nite before the meeting, a group of us attended a Red Sox game at fabled Fenway Park. To anyone who likes baseball, this park is a must see, right up there with Wrigley Field. The weekend after the meeting, another group of us headed north to Montreal for the weekend. A great place to visit and a genuinely unique experience. This was the first trip where I really felt like I was in a foreign country. All of the signs were in French and the vast majority of the locals spoke it as well. If you want to get a taste of traveling ... read more

Well, I know it has been a long time between drinks but there is no computer where I am staying at my Uncle's so he, very kindly, brought me over to Fernande's son's house so I can use their computer. I am in Laval, Montreal, Quebec. It is beautiful but a little intimidating as I most of the people speak french & all the signs are in French (guess that will be good practise for when I am in Europe & cannot read anything for 21 days....lol) The last time I left you I had just arrived in Toronto. WOW!! That city is so nice. It has lots of parks to walk through & it is very easy to find your way around. I woke early on Tuesday morning & was greeted by the melodic ringing ... read more

I am counting the days, less and less sleep night to go. Got my visa for India and started immunization program. Even got my electronic air ticket to Bangkok and I even paid it in full already!!! I want to travel light so I am packing once a week, walking around with it and eliminating stuff. Hopefully by the time I leave I ... read more

To all my new friends from around the world: There's some pics from montreal and one city's park. I hope they'll be a good publicity and that you'll come to visit me soon. You can see that my english didn't ameliorate :P Have a nice day.... read more
