Travel Blog Posts
I've been a bit slack writing my final blog but I've been too busy catching up with my family. I have been writing this for 8 days now & this is all I have gotten up to. I thought I would organise my photo's 1st so I could include them in this final blog. That took forever & I'm still not finished. I thought I would just add these ones though as it will take too long to wait for more. I will show you more when I catch up with you all. If I haven't called you yet I am sorry, I will as soon as things settle down a bit. I got home to my Dad being here cause my Grandma is moving & I have been busy catching up with them too. The ... read more
It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye to this wonderful resort...... Nah, just kidding. I'm happy to move on cause I am really looking forward to shopping in Bangkok & each step brings me a little closer to home. I have to go to the Markets today to pick a couple more things up. I checked out at midday and my shuttle doesn't leave til 6:45 this evening so I have 1/2 a day to fill in with no room to relax in. I'll probably have some lunch, roam around & take some more photo's, go to the markets & have a final southern at my bar. I just paid my bill & I was a little worried as I have just charged everything to my room for the last 5 days. I was ... read more
Slept late, not sure if it was jetlag or the bottle of Champers I finished off with my room service meal last night. Up at midday to get my ticket back, all problems fixed. Found yet another bar for a drink & lunch, tried a banana cocktail Lyndall...yum. Meant to tell you the other day it was raining so I sat down & had a Pina Colada, then took a walk in the rain....hehehe. Back to my room for more DVD watching, had a long long bath. Now guess where....yep back to my favourite bar for more computer & southern. God I'm a creature of habit....... Going to the Seafood restaurant for dinner, Chris, I'll think of you while I'm tucking into my lobster or prawns or whatever....hehehe. Ciao for now Love Kel xxxxx... read more
I could totally picture living in this resort for the rest of my life. If only I had the money, I'll have to start buying tatts tickets. It is so utterly amazing. I know why you & Paulie come here all the time Lissy. I might have to come back with you in 6 months. Today has been exactly what I wanted it to be.....a lazy day!! I got up at 9:30 (only so I would have time for my free buffet breakfast and it was so very yummy), then I went and had a full body massage (not like the one your friends got Lyn). Those women have the most magical fingers & hands. I could have fallen asleep. I might have to have another before I leave. Then I met with my Tour East ... read more
It truly is "Heavenly" as the brochure says. I checked in at 9:30 & I have already been for 2 swims from my pool access room. I've wandered around taking photos of course & had a Pina Colada, I was thinking of you Lyndall, while having my lunch over looking the resort & the ocean. Went back for a lay down on my king size bed then got a burst of energy so came to the computer. Chris, I've lost the list of DVD's. I'll call you tonight. The flight from Heathrow was ok, didn't get the row I wanted but the middle seat was empty so that was good. Got a little bit of sleep & watched a good movie. The last 35 minutes were the longest though. Was a bit nervous about Bangkok airport ... read more
Hi all, This will be my last entry from the U.K. I am at Justin's house & it is 8:45pm the night before I leave for Thailand. I got back to the hostel from Edinburgh at 9:30pm Friday night. Had a couple of drinks, ran into Daz, our Tour driver, had a couple more drinks with him, tried to call Justin from the 1 phone that was working at the Hostel. Couldn't get through so I called him Saturday morning. Then I hit the hay. I was a little pevved cause I'd talked the guy at reception into giving me a bottom bunk & when I got to my room I found someone was already occupying it. She was not there so I couldn't make her change. So I climbed up into the bunk above & ... read more
I was not that interested after my long long Europe tour to be heading to Scotland. I was just ready to get to thailand then home. But now that I am here I am so pleased I got to do it. Yesterday I had a lovely sleep in then caught up on all the blogs that I had missed (spent 2 hours typing). Then I went into town via the hostel shuttle. I jumped on, yet another 'Hop On - Hop Off' bus to see the sights the lazy man's way. God they are the best inventions. I went to the Castle and walked around the Old Town for about 2 hours then I ran out of time so I didn't see much else. I got a quick £2.50 fringe cut (it was driving me completely ... read more
Hi all, Yes, yes I am still alive & I am in Scotland. I have been very slack with the computer but I am hoping to make up for it now. I last left you after Venice so now the story continues........ We had a long & boring trip from Venice to Roma. It wasn't the longest in hours but we all kinda got bus - fever & went a little silly. We started throwing things at each other & lauging over the most stupid things. Daz, our bus driver made a couple of extra stops for us that day, he said to keep us from going completely bonkers but me thinks it was more to protect his coach. The others were joining us in Rome so that too might have had something to do with ... read more
Next stop Florence. Not a bad trip but by now we are all getting a little sick of being on a bus. Although, I must say the service stops are magnificent. Real restaurants, nothing like our truck stops. I am sick of paying to pee though!! (you have to pay to use the bathrooms all through Europe) A great walking tour that lasted about an hour as the city is not that big, then we had free time to explore. It was strange to see the statue of David & all the other wonderful artwork & staues they I have always heard about. We heard many intersting stories about Da Vinci, Willum Tell & Micheal Angelo. I just hope I rememer it all. I finally bought a St Christopher medalion that I have on a bracelet ... read more
I did what I always wanted, sat by myself and gazed out the window while entering and travelling through France. The weather was not the best but I didn't seem to notice as I watched farm houses and little towns pass me by. We started with a driving tour through the city of Paris in the late afternoon, seeing the Louvre, Seine River, Notre Dame, Champs Elysee, Arc de Triumph, the Eiffel Tower and much much more. Originally we were heading straight for our hotel then finding dinner for ourselves. Sightseeing the next day then a picnic under the Eiffel Tower on our last night. They changed the plans and we started with our Picnic under the Eiffel Tower. We were joining another Top Deck group who were just starting their tour so we sat in ... read more
