Trip of a lifetime? My first time out travelling by myself and Im heading over to Europe to go backpacking for 4 months! Is this a good idea? Do I have the slightest idea what Im doing? We are just going to have to find out. Glyn Jones

Ive been getting some emails and msn notes that people dont know where I am. Well to sum it all up Im back home in Calgary! The trip through Europe was amazing but I ran out of money too quick and towards the end I was just way too burnt out to go look for work overseas so I caught a standby flight home and I have been back here ever since. I think that was back on the 11th so Ive been back a while now. I flew home just before that London flight bombing scare so I got home just in time. Hey folks I found a cheap internet cafe so I thought I would just drop a quick update. A quick hello to John in South Carolina, USA. Hey folks, in an internet cafe in London right now and its pretty cheap so I thought I would just fire off a quick update! It was so hard to leave Switzerland but all good things must come to an end. When I win the lottery I am definatly moving back there! Hopped on the 6 hour train to Paris and wow was that boring. The definate advantage of Busabout is that when you are on the bus at least you know the person sitting next to you speaks English and that they arent on their way to work. Hey folks super quick update here. Internet in Switzerland is INSANELY expensive and being that this is going to be the last couple of weeks of my trip the budget cant deal with the $20 it would cost for an hour of internet to do a full update. Allright where was I? Oh yeah Florence! Last day there I was planning the rest of my trip and since I didnt catch the bus there I had to find the correct camping ground where the bus was going to pick me up the next day. After hitting up an internet cafe and the bus station to get the right directions I was going to do a dry run to make sure everything would work ok at 6am the next morning. Been a little while since I have updated this thing and unfortunatly the internet cafe that I am at wont let me plug in my card reader so one more update with no pictures. GRRRRRRRRR So I got on the bus in Munich and was going to spend 2 nights in this small little place called St Johan in Tirol in Austria and when the tour guide asked the bus who was getting off there I was the only person to put up a hand. Ok quick update. I was putting some pictures on here and I realized that I totaly skipped over Vienna on here! I was in Vienna before I went to Munich. Vienna was a pretty chilled out place. Basically spent 3 nights there and I have some pretty sketchy notes about it. One highlite of the whole trip in general was a bike riding tour that we did of the Wackau region of Vienna. Sounded like a good idea, get a bunch of people drunk on wine and let them bike around. What could go wrong there? Noting!! We headed out there early one morning and it was insanely enjoyable. Ok if you have been following along with the blog you will be used to the format of "this is what I did on Monday, this is what I did on Tuesday..." at this point I am going to have to change the format a bit because I have no idea what day it is anymore! So today is finally my last day in Amsterdam and since I have done everything today was a day to catch up on postcards and journal writing. Yes you might have already been to Europe. Yes you might have already been to Amsterdam. Yes you might have already seen a live sex show. But were you up on stage at one with a naked stripper sitting on your chest? Didnt think so, more on that later though. Im pretty rushed here so just some quick notes here. So after Paris I headed up to Bruges for some of the most amazing beer/chocolate/waffles I have ever had. Started off the day with a quick wander around Bruges. It was actually a holiday so pretty much everything was closed. Stumbled upon 3 Euro pasta so me and Little Mikka tried some cherry beer with it, SOOOOOOOOO TASTY!! WOW Im supposed to do a quick summary for an update here cause Melanie wants to go drink some wine. I will make more of an update and put some pictures on later when I have access to some better cheaper computers. Had to leave Edinburgh and wow did the amazing archiologist Amanda and all the great folks at Brodies ever make it hard for me to leave.
