Ok early start at 6am. Headed to subway for our $1.70 ride to the airport. Got to the 'Logan Airport' and checked in with no queues. Headed into the small terminal and waited to board. All of a sudden we hear- 'Flight 357 looking for passenger Logan'. Whoopies we were at the wrong gate and were not listening. So we boarded our small plane and were like the 19th and 20th passenger. We had the whole back end of the plane to oursleves. The flight was baout 2 hours and we were off and in customs in a flash. The luggage carousel was empty with our two bags going round. Mum's friend Gary with his wife Carolyn were there to pick us up. We got into Gary's Yuekon (massive car) and headed back to his place. ... read more

The trip started with a bang! A Monseratt bang and one that threatened to postpone our flight to Saint Kitts. Final packing touches completed at 12:30 am followed by a couple hours of sleep and then off to the airport. 3:30 AM at the American Airlines counters - a disorganized mess - through security, followed by security and then more security. Full pat downs and searches to make certain that everything is safe to fly. Incovenient yes but we think it's better to be safe than sorry. 6:20 AM and we're on our way to Miami... ... read more

Brunch today with Kathryn was great... but I had the alarming realization that I am not 2.5 weeks away... but merely 11 sleeps from my flights to Nairobi. I leave next Sunday, Janurary 3rd at 5:55 pm ... and thankfully my Dad has agreed to take me to the airport. After a quick layover in Amsterdam, I arrive in Nairobi on Janurary 4th around 9 pm - before spending the night in Milimani Backpackers Hotel and then meeting up with the rest of the team on January 5th @ The Heron Hotel - which is nearby. See . I'm working out in some capacity each day - and after some minor health scares ... a slight heart issue, and then a grand tumble of the 6 inch ledge in the Youth Team room that I somehow ... read more

Some Fitting Inspiration It may be cheesey, but it is working. This song perfectly describes how I am feeling and this epic adventure that is a mere SIXTEEN SLEEPS AWAY! I can almost see it That dream I'm dreamin' but There's a voice inside my head sayin' You'll never reach it Every step I'm takin' Every move I make feels Lost with no direction My faith is shakin' But I Gotta keep tryin' Gotta keep my head held high There's always gonna be another mountain I'm always gonna wanna make it move Always gonna be an uphill battle Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose Ain't about how fast I get there Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side It's the climb The struggles I'm facin' The chances I'm takin' Sometimes might knock me down ... read more

SUPER COOL! Tomorrow is my last day at Free The Children. It is going to be tough to leave this place that has been my home for 2 years. FTC has fundamentally changed me - for the better, I hope. Today was special. Craig and Marc carried the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Torch across North Toronto and then brought it into the office. Super fun! Oh, also - all of my sponsored gear arrived from UK today!!! I opened the MASSIVE box in the Youth Team room with Serena, Kelly, Humza and Jane! Way better than Christmas! I can't believe the incredible work that the 3P3W team did to secure this! Amazing! Our sponsors have been so generous - I can't wait for a photo shoot on Kili in just a few weeks! So... here is a ... read more
