Three weeks today and we will be off - OMG 3 weeks today! It seems like forever that we have been planning this trip and now that it is so close it seems more unreal than ever! Nat, Livia, Laura and myself (Jin) will set off from Birmingham International Train Station on one long train journey all the way to Singapore haha, but more about that later! Is everything ready?!? Surly not, haha, after what seems like years of planning and researching I am feeling a little bit lost, hence it seems like a good idea to now start the blog! For anyone planning to travel to China on the trans-Siberian railway don't forget about your visa's and leave it till the last minute. OMG how stressful, and expensive I might add! Hopefully we will get ... read more

We spent two days in the Worcester district. This is because there are a couple of good things to see here, and one of them takes a full day so see. We had stayed in a little town near Worcester overnight to catch up with a friend of ours, Terry Walls. We stayed the first night at Terry’s house, and it was good to catch up with him. We left Terry’s house next morning and sent to an English Landmark called Wawrick Castle. This is England’s premier castle experience and is an old castle that has been turned into a great day out. It was a hot day (REALLY hot for UK standards… it was about 28 degrees and it was still holidays for the little English children, so the place was very popular that day. ... read more

The trip is fast flying by and we are over half way through our stay. Lexie has continued to wow the locals this week, with the elderly ladies of the village asked round for tea - it was like a scene from 'Last of the Summer Wine' with 8 or so octagenarians watching Lexie play on the mat, and they loved spending time with our little poppet. She was showered with gifts and toys, which was so generous of everyone. Later on this week she also met mum & Dad's Stratford buddies, Auntie Ann & Uncle George and mum's old boss from work Jules. Everyone has been so keen to meet the girl that Grampy never stops talking about. Not sure how Granny & Grampy will cope when we go home! When we arrived here mum ... read more

Helen's blog: to record Lexie's first travel experience and visit to her family in England. ---------------- I guess having two parents who both have wonderlust for travel, and who met while living oversea's, it shouldn't be suprising that Lexie took to the skies, and travelled such a long distance, like a duck to water. We followed all the advice kindly given, fed her on the ascent and descent, and she didn't even peep the entire journey, and happily passed the time, sleeping (at least 8 hours!), playing with her toys and winning over the entire cabin crew, and nearby passengers, by smiling, giggling and screaming with delight at all attention given. That's my girl!! So many people commented on what a gorgeous, and happy baby she is - thank goodness for that! On arrival at Birmingham ... read more

As it is so sunny we are having cocktails I am having a Long Island Ice tea yum..... I should be packing the boxes to send but that will have to wait till tomorrow. ... read more

Last year I set about walking the Shakespeare's Avon Way. This is a long distance walk of 88 miles following the River Avon from its source near to Naseby in Northamptonshire to where it meets the River Severn at Tewkesbury. The walk does not follow the river bank from beginning to end as that would be impossible. The Way does its best to keep as close to the river as it can but every now and again one is diverted away from the Avon and this means the occasional walk along country lanes. Last year I set off from Naseby and got to Evesham in 4 days leaving me to complete the stretch from Evesham to Tewkesbury. Today was set aside to do the 8 mile stretch from Evesham to Pershore. This was a pleasant walk ... read more
