Here is the plan so far: 2 night stay in Bangkok before joining the 20 day G-adventures Cambodia and Vietnam on shoestring tour. I'll be taking in the cities of Phnem Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Ho chi minh city, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue and Hanoi After this I have no real plans, just going with the flow, but hoping to take in these countries aswell: Thailand Laos Malaysia Indonesia Singapore Hoping, depending on the situation, to spend a couple of nights in Hong Kong, if they can be fitted in , but like I say nothings concreted after the tour.... read more

Good afternoon to you, We have come to Southampton primarily to run a 5k charity event for Asthma UK on 27th July 2014. Well, this is not strictly true as I though I am supporting the event I shall be supporting the runners from the side lines ??cheering them on and being on hand with water, energy drinks, electrolyte replacements and lots and lots of love ?and admiration for their efforts. The journey down here was rather tiring, it was 31.5 degrees C so very hot and we were in quite a long traffic jam. Of course this is one of two of the busiest weekends to do any road travel as the schools have just broken up for Summer. I hope it won't be such a lengthy, hot and tiring journey tomorrow. I have to ... read more

Geo: 50.8998, -1.39561We awake at 6am and Adventure of the Seas is already docked in Southampton. It's a beautiful, crisp sunny morning. P&O's Oriana is silently making her way up the channel to her berth behind us. I can see bleary eyes passengers from that ship looking over at ours. No doubt mulling about their journeys home.We shower, dress and head down to the Vivaldi Dining Room for breakfast. As it's the last morning it's served buffet style rather than waiter service. After that we head up to deck 12 for a walk around in the early morning sunshine. Feels strange to know we have travelled from the new world back to the old without getting on a plane. As it's still too early for us to disembark we head to the Windjammer for some coffee and ... read more

Wednesday July 24th 2013. Southampton, England. We arrived at our friend's Liz and Ian's home in Gosport late morning having set off from Bristol around 9.30 am. We were fed a fantastic lunch of Gammon with parsley sauce and then Ian drove us to the Mayflower Cruise Terminal in Southampton. We arrived around 3pm and checked in and boarded with no queues whatsoever - brilliant! We had only been on board for an hour when we had to show up for the mandatory safety drill. We set sail at 17.10. The Oriana was moved off the birth with the aid of a tug. Once clear of the dock we set sail under pilot instruction for Dublin Bay. We went up on deck and to watch the sail out of the channel, passing the Fawley Oil Terminal ... read more

Geo: 50.8998, -1.39561Finally our cruise reached its conclusion. Before disembarking back in Southampton, we had a full day cruising at sea. It was a pretty easy going day. A sleep in, followed by brunch at the Windjammer buffet. The food festival held in the Promenade was little to get excited about. More left overs and dog food than delicacies. We engaged in furious scrabble combat thereafter for the final time. Nat came close, but was still unable to beat me, and as usual was not happy about it. From scrabble, I had to rush to make it for the final football tournament. Brady turned up for a game, but to our dissappointment few others did. Usually theres enough for three teams of 5. Today, just one three on three match. It was tough conditions, a flat ... read more

Geo: 50.8998, -1.39561Well today was a big day. Joe and Sarah dropped us off in Newcastle just before midnight on Thursday. We boarded the National Express bound for London at 11.45pm. The seats were comfy but the trip wasnt quite paradise. It was cozy and a long night where we managed to sneak in a few hours of uncomfortable broken sleep. Finally, we arrived in London around 6am. That wasnt the end of our bus adventures for the day. We had time to grab maccas for breakfast before getting on another National Express at 8.30 bound for Southampton. Another two and a half hours later we arrived in Southampton. Finally, enough with buses for the time being, and onwards to a more spectacular, grand and exciting means of transport. Our arrival in Southampton meant the end ... read more

Our first visit to Bromsgrove has drawn to a close and we are on the move again. It has been a wonderful stay with Kate and Al and their hospitality cannot be faulted. It has become quite the routine for me to pour Kate and Narelle a Pimms at 5pm to begin “sun downer” drinks and I think Kate may actually miss it. There is still a large bottle left so when we next visit we can continue to assist in its disposal. I am not sure how much Pimms will be consumed in the UK this summer but I would expect a great deal as everywhere you look it is being advertised. It being a very British summer drink its presence at Jubilee functions, Wimbledon and the Olympics is expected and often welcomed. I am ... read more

Geo: 50.8998, -1.39561Saturday 07/04/12 Vigo,SpainVigo is known as "the Gateway to Atlantic" and is the largest and the most importantcity in Galicia, Spain, the Old Town still retains four of the original squares – Plaza de Pedra, Plaza Almeida, Plaza Princesa and the largest of the four, Plaza Constitucion. All of these squares are full of character, as they are framed with the original buildings of the quarter. Whilstambling around we discovered the parish church of Santa Mari and popped in and immediately realised it was Easter Sunday as all the icons and statues were on platforms ready to be paraded through the town later in the day so we left as discreetly as possible. As we're only here ... read more
