Getting Ready Just a quick note to you to check if you want to receive these short reports. If you want us to no longer send them then let us know and we can delete you from the circulation list. No problem. For those staying with us we are now preparing the van for another trip south to some sunshine. We have recovered from Xmas and New Year (Both a first time for Thomas and Mia, from respectively Anne and Graham and Thomas and Caroline). And then we have had the marmalade making machine in the kitchen producing 85lbs in the last two weeks. But then we are free, apart from the Saints playing Notts County on Saturday, to start our journey. First we are calling on Lesley's brother's family in Folkestone before crossing on Wednesday. ... read more

Well, this is it! We are here in Southampton and the dock is in sight. We will be boarding Arcadia in the morning and sail away later in the day. We were too scared to leave anything in the car & we looked a right sight lugging in 3 huge suitcases, two suitbags and a very obvious long white wedding dress bag :-) I wouln't give a hoot if the hire car got stolen, but if it had the wedding dress in it that may have been a bit of an issue - bit of "you cannot be too careful" Anyway just wanted to set this up ready and see how I can send links to all of you who would like to keep an eye on our progress... Hope it proves to be a bit ... read more

Arrived in Southampton after ferry overnight from Caens - all went well except we had an early morning call at 5.30am. Hotel in Southampton very kindly gave us our room at 7.30am this morning so day seems to have gone on forever. Have re-packed yet again to try and ditch some stuff - and now some of its going back to Toulouse in the car!!! Am going to try and attach photos this time. One is of Scott getting what he likes best (well almost) before he has to dine properly. Now in room with a bottle of screw top red from M&S and wondering if I have the energy to go down and mix with rather a lot of elderly folk waiting to go on a cruise!!!!! Am sure it wont be the same one ... read more

Ron was very sad to have to disembark mid morning at Southampton, I think he would have liked to keep sailing back to Australia instead of flying. After picking up our hire car we decided to travel to Heathrow via Lacock which we had heard was a pictureque village and somewhere we could stop for lunch. Lacock Village, dates back to the 13th-century, it has remained largely unchanged over the centuries and has many limewashed, half-timbered and stone houses. During the Middle Ages Lacock became a prosperous and thriving town through its wool industry. The village was well placed as it was on the 'cloth road' from London and the River Avon, which gave access to the sea at Avonmouth near Bristol. The village has been used as a film and television set, notably for the ... read more

My First Blog Today marks the first day that I decided to stop being lazy and start creating a blog for all my travels onboard the Queen Victoria. So far, I've traveled to several countries in Europe, a few in Asia, and one in Africa (Egypt). I've also been onboard the Queen Mary 2, in fact I started my first contract on the Queen Mary 2 as the Assistant Printer. I am now the Chief Printer on the Queen Victoria and I plan on being here for at least a few years. It's hard to say how amazing traveling is in just a few words, but for now I'll just say, people say that college are the best years of your life, but I think that these will be even better. Nothing beats a clash of ... read more
