During my teens I was a hippie chick and even though that goes back to '69 and was up to '76 I may have settled down in many ways but the hippy sets has never left me. I travelled across Europe, worked for food, and ended up in Cyprus where I married a local (about the only conventional thing I'd ever done) and the went back to Germany where we lived for the next few years having a great time.
Once I had children (the first in 1976) I had to be settled for their sake and so followed many years of homemaking and mothering, picking up waifs and strays in all forms along the way.
Once all my kids flew the nest I was again free to be who I wanted and do what I wanted and so after a divorce, I had another beginning in 2008 and I've not looked back. At last truly happy, the sense of freedom incredible, I have a wonderful soulmate partner in life who demands nothing from me, understands my yearning for the open road ahead and encourages me to explore my dreams, we have true unconditional love for each other and I am ever grateful for her coming into my life at a time when we had no idea what we would become to mean to each other.
Enough of sentiment and on to serious stuff 😉 hmmm as if!! I shall be looking at retirement in a little over a year ahead and I have a dream to spend it exploring first our lovely country here in UK and then possibly move on to Spain. So slowly but surely I am putting things in place in preparation. First I had to get a vehicle that would support my intended nomadic lifestyle and yet be comfortable enough that I would not yearn for 'home'. (My nearest and dearest will come to me at weekends if I am not near enough to drive back easily). The vehicle is here coach built motorhome on a VW T4 chassis, excellent!! Just what the doc ordered 😊).
I have a big map book which I shall start to study and begin plotting routes.
So dear Reader this is me and I am on my very own 'Starlight Canonball' (thanks to Paul Butler for that song Shipwreck in the Sand).
