And we're off! Car packed, the new patented 'on the go tea and coffee station' filled (we worked out we could save about a hundred quid with a couple of flasks and some easy access tea bags) and we were off. We made it to nearly junction 25 of the m1 (a whole ten minutes from home) before hitting traffic .... Great..... And a whole 73 miles before the same engine light that has been pinging it's way on and off through the last year came on. Again. It's been fixed several times but seemingly the dpf wants to let us know it's there which is lovely.........ping....... Lunch was a rare treat to see family, my aunts and cousin and her daughters. Giant Seth next to his much smaller second cousins made us all chuckle. Ping ... read more

Dear All Greetings from London! It has been a while since I last wrote a Travel Blog entry, as like many of us, I haven’t been doing much travelling for the past year. It’s been wonderful seeing and reading people’s travel blog entries on here on their local travels, or previous travels that they had not hitherto been able to write up. It has been a breath of fresh air during these times to read such stories and adventures, and see such lovely pictures from exotic, distant places around the world. Thank you to those who have written such stories, and inspired me to keep trucking on and looking forward to travelling again at some time in the not-too-distant future. So here is my entry on a local travel destination. Unfortunately I haven’t done much local ... read more

Friday was our last day in Italy and a day for repacking and taking in the final views of the Tuscan hillsides and olive trees ringing the villa. At 7:30am on Saturday morning we had an early transfer to Rome Airport for our flights to London and Hong Kong. The journey was almost all highway, taking 3 hours including a short rest stop. We were able to enjoy our last views of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside as we whizzed along the highway at about 140km per hour. Our flight to London was late arriving and leaving but we landed almost on time and would have been back on schedule, had it not been for the lack of ground staff and an aerobridge to help us off the plane! We were met in the Arrivals Hall ... read more

Here I am back at the Arthur Findlay College in Essex. It is an amazing place. Previously, it was owned by a family and it was bequeathed to the Spiritualists National Union for the purposes of education. The grounds are lovely, as you can see from the photos. Inside, the decor is that of a stately home. So far the weather has been kind and it is 0 degrees (wind chill of minus 3) and up to a balmy 9 degrees. At least there hasn't been any rain.... yet. This week, the course is Animal Communication and Healing and we focus on both living animals and animals that have passed over. On Thursday we have the option of going to a bird sanctuary where there is a bird hospital and rehoming for injured animals.... read more

Thursday 31st May 2018 So far on our travels, transportation has been easy with few hiccups. Well, we did get flown to Penang six weeks ago because we couldn’t land in Kuala Lumpur in a terrific tropical storm, but that didn’t delay our journey very much. The journey back to the UK this weekend, however, was very tedious. We left Kuching in Borneo on Saturday, expecting to arrive in England on Sunday but unfortunately, we only got here on Monday! Our flight from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia was on time; it was a smooth journey. We stayed one night in a hotel not far from the airport and that was OK. On Sunday morning we got the 7.00 a.m. shuttle to KL International airport to get our Malaysia Airlines flight to London. We ... read more

We stayed at the ferryport last night. When I took Jeffery out first thing I was met by an unusual sight. Three motorbike tricycles towing caravans. I struggled to understand how the king of the road speed merchant bikers reconciled themselves with the conservative gentle caravanner lifestyle. Truly schizophrenic.... read more

Colchester is one of the main stops on the way to Ipswich and Norwich. For a long time I had been curious about this town. Having heard that Colchester is one of the oldest cities in Britain, it made me even more intrigued – so we decided to visit there on 20 November. The train brought us to Colchester by 45 minutes. We were greeted by the sculpture of the elephant, the symbol of this town. We then headed for the town centre following the yellow flags hoisted on the side of the roads. The steep route started after going past River Colne. There were a couple of well preserved, old-fashioned timber houses at the start of the riverside walk. We reached the High Street. There were two sculptures of elephants which pointed the directions for ... read more

I have been lucky to meet some wonderful people last week, plus spend quality time with my friend Kathryn - also from Hervey Bay. Here are some pictures from my last morning walk after breakfast, plus my tutors and fellow attendees at our final session. We have had a bit of a shamozzle with our Ryanair flights as Ryanair has cancelled many flights in order to force staff to take annual leave. Unfortunately, our flight from Stansted to Carcassone was one of the ones cancelled, so I am now on a coach from Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport, in order to catch a 2pm EzyJet flight to Toulouse. From Toulouse, we have to get to Carcassone, over an hours drive away, to get to our pre-booked hotel in Carcassone. We have a few days in Carcassone ... read more

Today, I have included some photos of the rooms inside the College - the dining room where we have all of our meals, The Sanctuary where we have lectures and services and other rooms where our classes are held. There are also a few photos of Shelley, Kathryn and me on our last night - having a drink at the bar. Our previous course finished after breakfast so as Shelley was leaving to go travelling with John, I have switched to a single room for the week. I had to take my luggage down to Reception and leave it there whilst the rooms were cleaned so I went for a walk into the village (Stansted Mountfitchet). My first stop was The Bean House, where I had a cup of tea and re-read my course notes and ... read more

Thursday, we had a guest visit by the trance painter, Jose Medrado, from Brasil. In a lecture through his interpreter Marilla?, Jose gave a talk on how to connect to Spirit, his personal background and then as he felt his healing guides were with him, he gave a healing to one of the students. When he was doing this, there was a very strong smell of ether in the air. He said that his guides provide this as proof of their being there. In the trance art session, he went into a trance very quickly and then started painting. His assistant prepares by laying out all the tubes of paint and utensils around him and he chooses them as he needs to. She quickly cleans them as he finishes using them and then replaces them for ... read more
