Leider habe ich keine Fotos gemacht.... read more

Bien à vous chers lecteurs, ... read more

Whoever said its about the journey, not the destination must have been the marketing guy for Tourism Norway. They have this tour called Norway in a nutshell and its certainly all about the journey. A round trip from Bergen that comprised:. Train to Voss, bus to Gudvangen, boat to Flam, train to Myrdal. Saw some pretty amazing scenery along the way. Boat took us through the Naeroyfjorden and Aurlandsfjorden. Couldn't believe the streams of water cascading down the mountains, some from the top which could be as high as 1800 metres. Would make for some pretty cool water sliding! Boat dropped us in Flam, a sleepy little town where winter sees the bare minmum trade happening. (read 1 cafeteria open, but which did a mean fish and chips) Time to then hop on the very famous ... read more

So far, Norway is being very good to us. Granted we have only been here for a couple of days, but it just all is so easy. Travelling through a Scandinavian country is like a breath of fresh air (and there's lots of that, up here, for sure) after having travelled thru countries like Egypt, Morocco & Cuba....even France last month. I'm not saying that its necessarily a better experience, in fact, its not as rewarding as those other countries, but it certainly makes a change. On the subject of fresh air, as I said, its pretty plentiful up here. I guess that's what people come here for. Famed for its natural beauty, I have been passing the time on our 6hr train ride to Bergen from Oslo, staring out the window, entranced by the stunning ... read more

Hello everyone! I was nearly finished a big entry and the connection failed and I lost it so I am in a shitty mood right now! Arrrgh!!!! So I start again....... To give you a quick run down so far I have been traveling four weeks and I have been to Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden and now Norway. I also got to see quite a bit of the far north of Germany which was great. I am in Bergen now. Came here on the train from Oslo on the 13th. It was amazing! Well worth it. It would have to be on anyones must do list for Norway. Handy hint for that however - buy the ticket well in advance and from the machines and not the counter. You can get it for half price. Same ... read more

I finally put some photos up on here...so I wasn´t lying when I said I would do it! I´ve had a few days of trains- I stayed in Narvik for 3 nights and did lots of fun stuff like watching boat races (the "Ofotfjorden Grand Prix 2007"!!!) and climbing mountains! I also went to ANOTHER museum! WHAT is going on with all these museums?! It was interesting though, Narvik was occupied by Germany in the war, because it is an important iron ore port, and the museum was about the battle and the German prisoner of war camps in the area. I got a bus and a night train down to Trondheim (the nearest train station to Narvik, apart from on the line to Sweden, is a 6 hour bus journey south!!) and spent the day ... read more

Profesjonsstudiet i psykologi. Tenk deg det. På søndag letta flyet og no er eg her. Kjenslene er uhyre blanda. Glad-sur. Bli-bitter. Manisk-depresiv. ... read more

Finally Getting Some Rest In Bergen Our final stop in Norway was the decent sized city of Bergen on the west coast. To continue our travel from Balestrand we caught a ferry from just outside our hotel. While the ferry was a really fast one, it still took us four hours to get to Bergen. The trip takes you through a fjord and out close to the Atlantic before heading back west to Bergen. For the most part I slept and read a bit while Kel devoured a book she had picked up at a used bookstore the day before. We had been really lucky in Norway, we had very little to no rain since our arrival. The only rain we received our whole time here was when we stepped off the ferry in Bergen. ... read more

American flags drape across Voyager’s atrium and at 9 a.m., passengers stop to sing the National Anthem. No matter the nationality, everyone participates. Earlier in the cruise, we celebrated with the Canadians on their holiday. Alan and I walk down the gangway to find our guide for a walking tour that includes a hike on Mt. Floen, one of seven mountains surrounding the city. Grey skies promise a misty, rainy day, which is typical for Bergen. The walk to the funicular takes us near Bryggen, a wharf area where colorful wooden buildings from the time of the Hanseatic League face the harbor providing character and ambiance. Our guide describes the history as we walk in alleyways housing shops. The area has burned numerous times. The modern funicular takes our group to the top where we stop ... read more
