Hi Everyone! And welcome to our blog. September 11th, Rikke and Me will be leaving Denmark for at least six months. First stop is Bangkok. None of us has ever been to Asia before, so we are for sure really excited. However, the stop in Bangkok, will only last for a little week, and then we're headed towards Sydney, Australia. Here we are planning on staying for about three months, then going to New Zealand for a month, back to Sydney, then Bangkok, and from there we're gonna travel around Asia for some months. But we are open for new inputs, ideas, and we are pretty sure that the plans are gonna change many times throughout the trip. In Sydney, we are hoping to get a job, maybe some one above will bless us with a ... read more

Hi Everyone! Well, after about 30 hours of traveling, i have finally made it to Struer! I have to say that this traveling experience so far has had its ups and downs, but mostly its downs. Kara, Brittany, and I luckily got to experience it all together. When we arrived to Minneapolis, Brittany and i missed our plane because we thought us three would be all together since all of our other flights were the same as Kara's. Thank goodness that the lady working the front check out area let us board the other flight! Anyways, once we arrived in Detroit, we met up with about 20 other Rotary exchange students =) Meeting these people was very exciting! It felt like I have always known them, and they were just amazing to be around. We had ... read more

Ayşe buna David in kardeşi Avram diyor. Fakat helal olsun, Ayşe malı 1... read more

Büyük bir alışveriş merkezinde... read more

My free weekend finally arrived. My friend Carl and I set out for Copenhagen, the Little Mermaid and the harbour. It was everything I ever expected ... the Little Mermaid is just beautiful and the quaint harbour city has the feel of Venice with a Scandinavian flair. The Little Mermaid sits on the way to Langelinje Pier and has such an amazing story. A Hans Cristian Anderson Fairy Tale was turned into a ballet. This ballet so moved one onlooker that he commissioned a sculptor to create a bronze statue of the mermaid and set it on a rock just north of the city centre. Sadly, she lost her head and an arm to vandals which was replaced. Yet again, in the middle of the night another vandal took to chopping off her head and leaving ... read more

In between the parks and partying I have also been participating in the school's social program as well as settling into living by myself (which includes shopping, duh!). The school has set up a series of events for the international students to get a feel for Copenhagen and to get to know everybody else. The events that I have attended include: - Folk Dancing I'm not going to lie. We weren't too optimistic about folk dancing, but when we started we had a surprisingly good time. The video that I've posted says it all. The dance looks cool but it does take quite a bit of coordination and timing. I don't think I'll ever try it again though, seeing as how I have zero of the two requirements. I'm just really grateful that I didn't fall ... read more

Hi All! My turn to write this blog (we're alternating - it's me you're speaking to at the moment. Hehe. Ok it's Heather) and I'm going to try to be brief as it's very hot in this cafe in Zurich (the blog is getting up to date slowly, the photos take ages to upload). We arrived in Copenhagan after an overnight trip in a couchette (6 berth sleeper carriage), it was a little hot and noisy overnight and so we arrived a little tired. On first glance the city seemed ok, we managed to book ourselves into a hotel right in the centre (tourist information was very helpful) and quickly dropped off our bags. Not deterred by our hours on a train we nipped straight onto another train to take us to a viking museum in ... read more

Friday morning upon arriving in Copenhagen, we headed straight for our hotel to drop off our luggage. Luckily they had a room ready early for us. After leaving our luggage in our room, we headed to a bakery at the train station for crosants. Then we took a walking tour of the city again guided by Rick Steves. We walked along the Stroget, a long pedestrain only street. We also took a rainy canal cruise, ate ice cream in fresh waffle cones, and gazed at the statue of little mermaid. We dragged our tired feet back to the hotel for a quick nap. Later we ate dinner at Wagamama, a new trendy Asian noodle place. The food was great! Then we headed into Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagens 169 year old amusement park and Walt Disney's inspiration for ... read more
