ALERT! andere "blogwriter" Robin na een halve watermeloen te hebben opgenomen begin ik met deze blog. Er is niet veel gebeurd vandaag omdat het vandaag niet veel droog is geweest. deze morgen zijn we naar ... geweest in Polen, volgens de ma was het de parel van het land; we kwamen aan een parkeerplaats in gietende regen, waar een parkeerwachter stond op sandalen in de regen. we kregen maar liefst 3 tickets voor te parkeren. Eens de regen gemindert was trokken we onze stapschoenen aan en trokken we in het stadje, na een aantal markten afgewandelt te hebben hadden we wel door dat het niet echt zo'n parel was. maar toch geen probleem, we hebben nog een beetje gewandelt door het stadje, ons middagmaal opgegeten en teruggetrokken naar ons hotel. in het hotel gingen we ieder ... read more

om te beginnen zijn we vanmorgen opgestaan (vrij logisch allemaal) en zijn we gaan ontbijten. de bedden vind ik zelf niet heel optimaal, want ik werd vanmorge getrakteerd met wa rugpijntjes. het ontbijt is hier zeer lekker! pannenkoekjes, broodjes enzo van die dinge. tandjes gepoetst, konden we vertrekken naar liberec om daar het stadje te gaan verkennen. de auto geparkeerd in een soort van shopping center, zijn we dat eerst gaan verkennen. wat ons opviel was dat de prijzen (hoewel het eerst heel duur lijkt) enorm laag zijn tegenover die in België! het spreekt dus natuurlijk voor zich dat we ons vandaag goed hebben uitgeleefd met winkelen. de winkeltjes bleven maar komen en de prijzen bleven even goedkoop, dus: ik (Rick moest je het nog niet doorhebben) ben dus een T-shirt, een hemdje, een paar schoenen, ... read more

And so our Earthwatch experience began one day early. Thanks to the wonder of the internet, I had researched a restaurant in Prague and made a reservation! 6 of the team met at the restaurant and enjoyed a traditional czech meal. So lets skip to Saturday to when we offically met. I have been to Prague 11 yeas ago, so my first two days were spent reconnecting with this beautiful city. Though i tried hard i was late and kept the group waiting for our night out in Prague. Today, we didn't have any appointments. We were finished with lessons and so we could take our time 'cos carrying two sets of skies and poles in ski boots can be very exhausting! We decided to take the 10:00 ski-bus and also use the time to take a few more photos of the scenery and also the other skiers. Roky is a place that now relies heavily on tourism and as such most of the houses were either pensions like our own, ( private homes rented out ), apartment hotels or chalets and most things were written in Czech and German with a sprinkling of English here and there. Roky is a haunt for Czechs and East Germans so most people spoke both languages. We spoke German too but for extra security. I wanted an English-speaker thus we were partnered with George, a young 20-something Czech. We were a very mini-group of three. Veronika ( a 6 year old Czech ), “The Small Young Gentleman” ( another 6 year old ) and me ( a complete adult ) and we were going to have private lessons on Horni Domky!!! Horni Domky spreads out over the southern slopes of Lysá hora at an elevation of 630 to 1,315 above-sea-level.
