Well, I made it to San Juan. I am sitting in the executive lounge on the 9th floor of the Carbie Hilton, starring out the window to the waves crashing the beach! Pretty sweet. The flights were good, a little rough flying, but not bad. The last flight was like 4 hours, a long one! I met up with four other crew members in Charlotte, including the other props guy who I'll be working with directly. He's a pretty cool guy, in fact there're all pretty cool. They've been on this tour for about 5/6 months already, so their seasoned veterans. [View Full Entry]

Day 2 and the good news is I've found a card reader to upload my photos. DaHouse hotel continues to impress me. I would recomment it to anyone visiting SJ. The rooftop deck and pool were a pleasant surprise. This morning I ran for about 45 minutes. It was already warm and humid even at 7am. The spray from the fountian was very refreshing. the paseo de la pricesia is a great place to run, but i think it should be renamed padeo del la feline. I counted 30 cats along the 2 mile walk. There may have been only 29 [View Full Entry]

Greetings from Viejo San Juan, PR. It's a little after 10pm and I'm struggling to stay awake. The worst news of the day is that I forgot my camera's usb cable, so I can't upload any photos. I'll try to buy another one here or have mine shipped to me in Bequia. So, for now all you get are these boring "no photo" blogs. SORRY! I arrived in SJ about 3:30. I'm staying at a hotel called "DaHouse". When the taxi driver dropped me off I couldn't even find the front door. I asked the bartender across the alley and he [View Full Entry]

Today, 4 of us went up to San Juan to walk around and enjoy the old city. Brady had bad memories of last year (2nd degree sunburn compounded by 95 degree weather) and Megan had her foot stung by a wasp a couple days before and decided that walking around all day would not be the best action to take. They stayed at the house, walked into town (slowly) and ate at Galloway's again, and found a shallow area where hundreds of tiny, quarter sized crabs were hanging out. They also swam in the pool and did some laundry. Jerid, Krystal, [View Full Entry]

Melanie and Brad have come to cruise with me!! Mel is my youngest sister and Brad is her boyfriend. To celebrate the end of their school year and their anniversary, they've taken a trip which includes 8 day at sea with me! They arrived on the ship two days ago and I've been having such an incredible time with them here. Until now, we've been on the ship and enjoying everything there. But now the real adventures have begun because we're reaching ports of call. Tonight we're in San Juan. I have raved about this city again and again in this [View Full Entry]

Looking at the fort, I just remember the day I explored it with Lolo.
Spring break is crazy!!! I had a really challenging cruise a couple weeks ago. My teens were partiers which led to lots of problems for me. I’m also struggling with so many guests expressing disappointment in my program, when the main problem they have is the age restrictions - something that is not set by me but I am left to enforce. I’m trying to not let it drag me down, but it can be really difficult at times. Last week I had what surely must be record-breaking (or close to record-breaking) numbers. There were 410 teens onboard who fell into [View Full Entry]

We arrived early on Thursday morning, super humid. We found our way to our Boutique hotel in San Juan called Coral Princess Inn, I read rave reviews about this little place and we were not dissapointed AT ALL! We were able to check in early, upgraded us to the suit and the complemetary breakfast provided every morning was amazing (for being free), crossiants, danishes, yougurt, fresh orange juice, coffee, water, sliced ham, cheese, cream cheese, coffee cake, fresh fruit and delicious pastries. We didn't use the hotels pool because it was almost all covered by shade. We took it up ourselves [View Full Entry]

We sailed to Cinnamon Bay, St. John, USVI with our friend Pat sailing her boat “If Knot Y Knot” along with us. A picture of a 30 lb. turtle we saw there is attached. We continued on to the Spanish Virgin Islands of Culebra and Vieques. In 1941 about two thirds of Vieques was taken over by the U.S. Navy . The Navy purchased the land from the locals, but did not give the locals the option of keeping their land. We saw a film interviewing some locals that were upset about the Navy taking away their land. We did some [View Full Entry]

Still here in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Hello everyone! After many month thinking about it, the time has come to continue the journey to see the world. I am still in the planning process, however, it is official now that first stop in this journey will be India and the Rajasthan region.
