Hi all, We are home!!! Here are more pics of our adventure that I hope you will enjoy. Several of them were taken at SeaWorld….but when I tried to submit them to ‘travelblog’ the first time, they didn’t take. I liked them so much, that I am trying again. On Sunday, 10/25, we visited a childhood 'bud’ of Jim, who is now living on a 19 mile long, 3 mile wide island, off the Florida Gulf coast. On Tuesday, 10/27, we visited another ‘bud’ of Jim. Dwight and his wife Valerie, spend their winter in Florida and have a home [View Full Entry]

On Wednesday, we moved Northeast about 60 miles to Apopka, which is about 15 miles from Orlando. We can only get internet here if we carry the laptop over to the ‘clubhouse’ and it is so sloooooooow, so this is probably the only time I will be online before we leave. Thursday, 10/22, we went to SeaWorld. We really enjoyed it and I highly recommend it to everyone! There was a lot more going on at SeaWorld than at Busch Gardens (maybe because of it’s proximity to Orlando??). Hope you enjoy the following pics, again in no particular order. We visited Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fl on Thursday, 10/15. Not too many people there in Oct. A GREAT time to visit. A few times, we did not see anyone around except us!! Our tickets included entry (and most activities) for 14 days, as well as to Seaworld (we will go next week). We spent about 5 hours and saw everything we wanted to in that time. There are lots of things for children to see and do...and of course, that would take more time. One hint if you plan on going......pack a cooler in your vehicle. You are not allowed [View Full Entry]

Here are a few photos of the RV park where we are staying in Lakeland, Fl. We are about 30 miles outside of Tampa. The weather here has been a humid 80-90 degrees, but we are headed for a cool-down this weekend. (Nothing like back home...WOW!!) [View Full Entry]

Hi all, Well here we are 'on the road' again. Not for too long this time. Visited family for a few days in Richmond, VA...then on to FL. I have to admit....we did have a few 'events' along the way. First, our 1st day out, we were narrowly missed by a dead tree that blew over onto the highway...(Jim swerved out of the way) and thankfully it missed us! Next, we were informed that we have been exposed to H1N1, then I noticed about $600.00 missing from my wallet (guess that will teach me to carry all my money in my [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, We arrived at our RV Park, just west of Albuquerque, New Mexico on Mon. 10/8. After we ‘set up camp’, we drove into Albuquerque to explore. Albuquerque is HUGE! Basically most of the streets either run North & South or East & West, so it seems like it should be easy to get around….but there is so much traffic (even mid-week), if you are not in the right lane and the right time, it could be difficult to get back on track. As with any large city, best to have 1 or 2 (sometimes they differ) good street maps [View Full Entry]

Oct. 1 - We just returned to a RV Park in Bullhead City, Arizona, after a week in Las Vegas. I didn’t take many pics in Vegas because we have been there so many times……I already have TONS of them. We stayed at an RV Park in North Las Vegas. We drove our truck in everyday and left it in a downtown parking lot. Along our daily ride, we got to see a side of Vegas we have never seen. The homeless are in an area just North of Vegas. I felt uncomfortable taking pictures of them….but I took them [View Full Entry]

Hi again, While we were driving from Utah to Arizona, we called a campground within the Grand Canyon National Park, at the south rim, and we were lucky enough to be able to make a reservation for 4 nights. We arrived on 9/17/07, and basically just settled in and just drove around a little to acclimate ourselves. Much to our surprise….once you are in the park…..there are FREE shuttle buses to everywhere and anywhere you would want to go in the park. There are actually 3 shuttle bus routes which interconnect. A bus arrives every 15 min. to pick you up [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, Here are some pictures I took driving from Utah to Page, Arizona. We are seeing these ‘truck campers’ everywhere. Apparently you can rent them if you don’t own a camper. Good idea if you have never been camping before and are not sure if you will like it. Also a good idea if you are just planning to use it once in a while. If anyone is interested…… the info on the campers is: Cruiseamerica.com or 1-800-RV4-Rent Then the next day we traveled through Navajo Lands to the Grand Canyon. [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, Yellowstone National Park is BEAUTIFUL!!! If you decide to visit the area you NEED at least 3 days just to see the highlights in the park. There are LOTS of great fishing areas, so bring your waders, if you fish. A couple of observations I made while visiting the park: Apparently, there must have been a fire in Yellowstone. Jim says he thought he remembered hearing about one a couple of years ago. Anyway, the first thing we saw when we drove in was miles of dead & blackened trees. It’s gonna’ take a lot of years for that [View Full Entry]
