The locals know exactly the tricks. We visited a castle in Bad Bentheim from the early 1100. It was destroyed, rebuild etc, through the years. It is fabulous maintained and the grounds used for Weddings as well. The paving of cobblestones and slabs is on various places original. No high heals here if you want to stay upright.
