Arizona & Southern California - April 2017

a trip by Anne & Lee
From: April 4th 2017
Until: April 11th 2017

In early April of 2017, Anne and I traveled to the Phoenix, Arizona area to hike in the Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve and then drove on to Southern California where we found some nice hikes along and near the Pacific Crest Trail. One enhancement on this trip was the fact that our son, David, set up a camera at our home so that Anne could monitor her cats while we were away. Pointed toward their favorite napping spots, we were able to catch sight of them from time to time over the next week, providing, for the most part, reassurances that all was well on the home front. The only slightly unsettling time was one afternoon when one cat snoozed in the sun for so long that Anne was worried that he was not well. Of course the next time we looked, the sun had gone away and so had the cat. Thanks, David, for setting up the camera for us.

On the following pages are pictures as well as a recap of when and where we went and the trails we hiked. We visited three areas, Scottsdale, AZ, Idyllwild, CA, and Mount Laguna, CA, so there will be a page for each of those.
