Hi All, We hope this blog finds you well and that you have had a great 2007! We are sorry we have not been in touch as often as we would like. We have not been utilising the travelblog as much since we are no longer travelling!! Regardless, we wanted to take this opportunity to say hi, give you a quick update on us, and wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year. Where to start......? This year has flown by for us. We have now been home from the UK for 8 months. We spent our first 2 or so months back on the Gold Coast staying with Justin's family, catching up with mates, and enjoying the sun and the beach. During this time Rach was Maid of Honour for Nicole and ... read more

Here it is....the last entry from our trip back from London to Oz in March/April. Ko Samui in Thailand proved an amazing end to our travels. Tuesday 10th April On the plane to Thailand we were casually reading the local tourist magazine and discovered that we were going to be in Koh Samui for the Thai New Year - Songkran. The Songkran Festival was due to start on the 13th April and last for 3 days. The article described the celebration as a massive water fight….which had some historical significance. We were looking forward to the festivities, not knowing exactly what we were in for. We arrived at the airport which was basically a group of thatched bungalos …very unique....and caught a taxi to our hotel on the main tourist strip - Montein House. We ... read more

Here is the 2nd installment from our travels home to Australia in March/April......enjoy! Thursday 22nd March - To Pokhara There were no buses leaving the India/Nepal border for a few hours so we hired a taxi for 1800 Nepalese Rupees ($38 AU) to take us to Pokhara. This was an interesting drive to say the least. Respective parents should skip to the next paragraph! It was a butt clenching 5hr drive, twisting and turning through the narrow roads of Nepal as we dodged children, trucks and animals. When it got dark we didn’t think the headlights worked because the driver sure as hell didn’t want to use them. Eventually he did turn them on (when it was almost pitch black)and we did arrive safely in Pokhara. We checked into Hotel Fewa and after some negotiation ... read more

Hi Everyone! Well it's been a while coming, but we have managed to get something written about our travels on the way home from London to Australia. We got carried away with the amount of writing, so we have split it into 3 seperate entries - 1: India 2: Nepal 3: Thailand. As usual, if you can't be bothered reading the text just skip to the photos which speak for themselves. On to India where we spent our first 10 days......... Sunday 11th March 2007 - Delhi Stacy and Erin saw us off to Heathrow in London in the afternoon of Saturday the 10th. It was a funny feeling closing the front door of our house knowing we were not coming back! We arrived into Delhi at 3am on the 11th where our driver met us ... read more

Well its finally time to leave this dark cold place that we have called home for the last 2 years. Whilst we are looking forward to our upcoming travels, getting away from this weather, and heading back to Oz, we are experiencing a feeling of sadness and loss. There is pleanty we will miss here. Life over the past 2 years has been like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. But alas, it is time to turn the page and start the next chapter. We will be touching down in Brisbane on Wednesday the 18th April after 5 1/2 weeks of travelling through India, Nepal and Thailand. Naturally there will be a blog to follow these, but hopefully we can tell some of you about our travels in person for a change! During our time in ... read more

Hello All, Well just when you thought it was safe we have found time to fit in one last little trip before departing London. As we have the pleasure of Stacy and Erin's company (who are 'fresh off the boat'!) we thought we would take the opportunity to explore some of Southern Ireland together as neither of us had been. Friday 23rd Feb 2007 We decided to avoid the citys and opted for more scenic and rural areas of Ireland. We flew into Shannon at 11pm which is a smaller town located towards the south-west corner of the country. After collecting our hire car we headed to our hotel to rest up before 3 days of hard-core exploration! Saturday 24th Feb 2007 We decided to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant which turned out to be ... read more

On Shrove Tuesday we - Lesley, Chris, Paul and Rach (an AXA Insurance team) entered into the "Great Pancake Race". The race was held at the Tower of London, a gorgeous backdrop for such a prestigious event. Our trusty cheerleaders - Stacy and Erin cheered our team - "Les Crepes Toussers" through our fist heat which we narrowly won. The final was another close call but our training paid off in the end and we brought home the Bollinger!!! Just a quick blog on what we have been up to, besides working hard, we attended the London Pillow fight. Let us explain a little......there is a club you can register with online and they organise quirky flash mob activities around the city. The day before the event they email the time, activity and place and hundreds of people turn up to join in. The activity can range from pillow fights (like this one) to dancing to dressing up as santa. The location is always central London. This one just happened to be around the corner from Rach's work in the city at the foot of the gerhkin (landmark building in London). It was on Friday 15th December and the games began promptly at 18:12. So Brooke and us decided we should get involved. THE RULES ... read more

Hi All Firstly - Merry Christmas to you all. I hope Santa was kind to everyone. For those of you who don't know, I (Justin) recently travelled back to Australia for my mate Stacy's wedding to his lovely girlfriend Erin. It was a bit of a wirlwind tour, with only 11 days in total in Australia of which only 4 full days were spent at home on the Gold Coast. The Bucks and Wedding were all in Sydney so most of my time was spent there. I must start by apologising if I didn't get the chance to speak to you or catch up in person during my visit. Having said that, it was fantastic to be back on home soil after 20 months away, and to be back for such a special occasion. Most of ... read more
