Hello Everyone BE WARNED this is a long blog so if you want to go straight to the pictures please do so (we would!) The first thing we noticed arriving in the States was how friendly, helpful and multicultural the people were. San Fran was a stand-out for this. Everywhere we went people were always willing to give us directions or just have a chat. We’re not sure if this was emphasised by the fact that we have been living in London for 1 ½ yrs now where people can’t even look you in the eye OR that we just weren’t [View Full Entry]

Hi All This is a blog dedicated to Trish (Justin's Mum) who came and visited us from 3rd September through till 8th October. We had heaps of fun showing her around London and also fitted in a short trip to Paris. Mum loved Paris so much she ended up going back for a 2nd visit! We also had the chance to see the Phantom of the Opera, visit Harrods (a few times!) and the Ritz, stroll through the parks and gardens, look through some art galleries, and visit a few royal palaces. Thanks Mum for coming to visit us - We [View Full Entry]

Hi All We hope this blog finds you all well! A few weeks back we embarked on a 2 week 'holiday' up to 'sunny' Scotland. We decided to make things interesting by travelling on our motorbike! Needless to say it turned out to be a challenge, particularly with regards to packing. Regardless we had an adventure that we will long remember. An account of our trip is outlined below......or you can just flick through the pics! London to Newcastle Friday 18th Aug D-day for our long awaited journey. We had prayed for good weather for weeks, and in the days leading [View Full Entry]

Hello People! We hope this blog finds you all fit and well. This is a brief update from us about what we've been up to over the last month or so. We have had a bit of a dry spell with regards to travelling, but we have still been keeping busy with all sorts of weekend activities. Below are 3 activities in particular which were quite exciting for us..... 1. Cambridge University We headed up to the famous Cambridge Uni on a Saturday morning to spend the day exploring the colleges and take on some punting. We learnt about the many [View Full Entry]

Myself (Rach) and a few colleagues from AXA Insurance - (Lance, Ashley and Laurent) decided to do a mini triathlon hosted by JP Morgan. Don't ask me why, we just thought it might be fun..... It was held out at near Windsor at Eton college, where the princes went to college, also the 2012 Olympic rowing site. There were about 120 competitors split into 3 waves. We were all provided with wetsuites for our dip in the lake which was surprisingly warm. We started with the 400m swim (Poms cannot swim so this was a breeze!), followed by a 20km bike [View Full Entry]

We'll keep this blog short as we have sent a few of late...... We made a last minute decision to head up to the British round of the Moto GP on July 2. We rode the bike up to Donnington (3 hours) and had a fantastic day. Bearing in mind this was the very next day after being at Wimbledon, so it really was a sport-packed weekend!! We saw the 125's, 250's and of course the open bikes. These things do 270kmp/h and sound like a freight train - its amazing how these guys keep control of these machines. Watching a match at Wimbledon is a once in a life time opportunity, and hence it's very hard to come by tickets. Extreme cases call for extreme measures - we lined up for 16hrs! Friday 30th June 2006 Brooke, Aaron, Amy, Megan and us promptly left work on Friday afternoon equipped with tents, sleeping bags, mats, picnics, eskies and an overnight bag. We found our way to the end of the que at around 6:30pm and set up camp on a pleasent grassy patch. We were issued que cards which showed we were number 350 in the line. It was a [View Full Entry]

Royal Ascot Europe
Royal Ascot was a hit! We really made a weekend of it. We started the day with a champagne breakfast at Megan and Ian's house on their massive verandah in Chertsey. The weather was amazing and the champers was flowing! The girls - Megan, Amy, Brooke and myself donned our hats and sourced dresses...some all the way from Australia, and joined the beautiful people for a day of drinking, watching horses, gambling and waving at Liz (QEII). Ascot had just had a major refurbishment and was looking amazing so we helped to break it in. We drank Pimms all day and [View Full Entry]

We had been looking forward to this trip for 6 months. We had high expectations.....and they were all met. Warm weather, cheap seafood, and swimming in the clear Adriatic Sea at exotic islands - What more can you want? Read on........or just look at the photos! Wednesday 7th June 2006 We assembled the troups at Luton Airport at the usual early hour that is required for cheap flights. This time we were flying with 'Wizz Air'. Needless to say the name of the airline didn't instill a lot of confidence, but beggars can't be choosers! The team (all of us Aussies) [View Full Entry]

The Crew!

We have wheels!! Yes we have bought ourselves a motorbike. Our main aim is to tour the UK on it, specifically Scotland in August this year. But we'll also use it for weekend trips as much as we can during the summer. For anyone who knows bikes it's a Yamaha Fazer 600 (1999 model). We have gradually bought all the kit that we need including enough luggage for our trip (well, it's enough if Rach can leave all her clothes and shoes at home!!). It's first test was a 3 day weekend around southern england. We went to Stratford Upon Avon, [View Full Entry]
