It started just like any other day........ The Great Gorilla Run is a 7km fun run around the centre of London in a full length gorilla suit organised by the Dian Fossey Fund. If you remember the film 'Gorillas In The Mist'. Well Dian Fossey, who the movie is based around started this organisation. I discovered this run in an Aussie magazine (TNT) and signed up immediatley!! Surprisingly I couldnt convince anyone (including Justin) to do it with me, so I did it by myself with Meagan Kelly as my cheersquad. Not only did you have to run around the centre [View Full Entry]

Dress rehersal

Hello again A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to attend this special event (Rach knows people who know people on the inside!!). We couldn't pass up the opportunity to get glamed up and legless with a bunch of Aussies at the Australian High Commission. The night turned out to be a blast. Rach, JK and Simone attended along with Jannah and Bronya Glynn who work at the High Commission. As this was technically a staff function, beyond the formal dress there were realatively few formalities with most people letting their hair down. As you can see from the [View Full Entry]

G'day Friends and Family This blog is a brief overview of our 6 days in Spain, including the infamous La Tomatina (tomato throwing festival) in the small town of Bunol (pronounced Bunyol). We hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as we did producing them! Monday 29/08/05 We arrived in Madrid airport (it reminded me of the old Coolangatta airport - very 'no frills') and picked up our hire car - the diesel Seat Ibiza! Needless to say, it wasn't over-powered. But that was a good thing considering we were driving on the wrong side of the road from [View Full Entry]

Hi All Sorry it's been a while since our last entry. There is pleanty for us to fill you in on....but the first thing of note is that we have finally moved out and are no longer crashing on Steve, Breck, Simone and Loz's floor. They have finally got us out of their house and are ready for the next lot of Aussies to take our positions. We loved our time there, but felt that after 3 months....it was time to move on (We still find ourselves there every weekend though). We thought we would take this opportunity to update you [View Full Entry]

Our first of many trips to Europe started perfectly with a long weekend in Paris to celebrate our birthdays. Saturday We caught the Eurostar (fast train) from London and before we knew it we were in Paris 3.5 hrs later!. We didnt want to waste any time as we were keen to explore this beautiful city, so after checking into our hotel we explored in style.....a 4hr push bike tour of the city! This was great fun, and was capped off with a boat cruise along the river Seine and a few glasses of red of course! We crawled back to [View Full Entry]

Well we finally arrived! Our good friend Simone O'Connor met us at Heathrow, to help us carry our 60kg of luggage back to her house in Kennington. This is where we have been living since the day we arrived along with, Steve Hunt, Breck Fairly, and Lauren O'Connor (Simone's cousin). We have been very lucky to have them put us up......and put up with us!! Our aim with this entry is to bring you up to date (well, almost) with the last 6 or so weeks that we have been in London. We have seen some cool stuff around the city, [View Full Entry]

Hello again party people. Welcome to Zurich, our last brief (2 days) stop before arriving in London. This place was a different world compared to Thailand and Vietnam, with the most apparent difference being the weather - 10 degrees and rain (compared to 40+ degrees in Thailand).....talk about climatisation! This did unfortunately detract from the views of the surrounding mountains, however the city itself was still beautiful in the overcast conditions. The first thing we discoved when we arrived in the city centre (where our hotel was - great location) was that it was a public holi [View Full Entry]

The day we arrived.....

Welcome to our next exciting installment.......Thailand (well, exciting for us at least!) We arrived at in Thailand after a loooong day. What was supposed to be a few hours travel (the flight from HCMC to Bangkok is 1.5 hours) turned into an all day affair after our flight was cancelled. We had to hang around the airport for 6 hours (not the nicest airport.....) before getting on the plane and sitting on the tarmack for another hour. All in all we were in transit for about 11 hours including cabs etc. To rub salt into the wound, when we arrived at [View Full Entry]

Hi Everyone Well we arrived safely at Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) airport and were greeted by our friends Roy and Lisa who we were staying with for the next 9 nights (lucky them!). We were also greeted by around 100 taxi drivers circling us like vultures! This city was a real eye opener - from the traffic to the poverty. We were very grateful to have a very comfortable place to stay with Roy and Lisa as I dare say the hostels would have been a little 'rough'! After a quick settle in our wonderful tour guides Mimi, Lisa and [View Full Entry]
