Hello again party people.
Welcome to Zurich, our last brief (2 days) stop before arriving in London. This place was a different world compared to Thailand and Vietnam, with the most apparent difference being the weather - 10 degrees and rain (compared to 40+ degrees in Thailand).....talk about climatisation! This did unfortunately detract from the views of the surrounding mountains, however the city itself was still beautiful in the overcast conditions.
The first thing we discoved when we arrived in the city centre (where our hotel was - great location) was that it was a public holiday and NOTHING was open - not even the Lindt chocolate factory to Rach's dissappointment. Not really what we had hoped for considering we were only here for a short stay, but there was still enough to see....and eat....as we discovered.
In the limited time we had we explored by foot, tram, ferry and bus through both the new and old areas of the city. This consisted of many clocks, chocolate shops, cobblestone streets and churches. Lucky we were'nt staying too long as we quickly discovered our Aussie dollars didnt go as far here as they did in Vietnam and Thailand. A
beautiful city, however we were soon on our way again.......next stop: London. But you will have to read all about that in our next exciting entry (which WILL be up in the next few days).
Take care
Justin and Rach
