We are in Copenhagen now. Ethan and I walked to his ship and counted about 20 7-11s on the way. Otherwise a pretty typical European city I guess. The flavored soft ice cream here is great. Bicycle travel is very popular and there are lots of paths for them here even turning lanes. BTW click on the pictures and they should come up bigger ok even if they are black below.... read more

Ethan and I have been in Luxor for the last couple days seeing the ancient Egyptian sights early to beat the sun and spending the 42 degree afternoons by the hotel pool. Luxor has changed alot from when I was last here 24 years ago. Our camera died and we are using a disposable film camera for the rest of Egypt so probably no pics here until I get home and scan some photos. I did add some pictures to the Wadi Rum entry http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Jordan/South/Wadi-Rum/blog-314143.html... read more

I had read that the ferry trip to Egypt is a gong show and it was all true. We set out at 8am from the dessert and got to the ferry terminal at 9:30 for what we though was 11or12 ferry. Interesting process to get stamped out of Jordan and ticketed for the ferry but not too bad, helped some other tourists with the process while we waited but mostly egyptian migrant workers and some families as passengers, nice waiting area- not (pic later). At noon we were told one more hour, the gangs of egyptians rushed the gate several times we joined the first time but learned fast not to bother again. When the time to go did finally arrive at 2:30 we just walked by the line with our privileged tourist status. Ferry sat ... read more

Had a nice time in the Wadi Rum dessert. We drove around in the blasting heat and did a little climbing around then after getting settled into our "Bedouin Camp" we went for a long camel ride. The company and food was good on the trip, load some pictures later.... read more

Ethan and I arrived at the Amman airport at 2am, pretty brutal flight times, felt like dead beats. We had a ride arranged for 6am so I slept a bit on the bench while Ethan read his book. Our first stop was the dead sea for a float in the high bouancy salt water.... read more
