I liked the design presented by the inside of our palapa at El Zotz.
Our first weekend trip was to the Mayan ruins at El Zotz which means the bats. We drove in over rough 4x4 road and camped overnight. In the evening we went to the edge of the cliffs to watch as thousands of bats streamed out of the caves above to go on thier feeding runs over the jungle. A local soccer team the "Veteranos" invited me to play
Dad and son spent 3 weeks studying Spanish in San Andreas on beautiful Lago Peten Itza. We also volunteered with the Volunteer Peten group and did a little sightseeing and swimming between lessons.
