Thank you Hi both, great to hear from and glad we can keep you entertained while Caroline and Andy are slogging away working in Canberra. Good on them, they're certainly living the dream in more ways than one now! Enjoy Yellowstone Park, how exciting. We'd love to see the photos if you have time to create a blog - it's a great way to share. Take care and hope to catch up when we return. Dar and Sar
Well worth it A place well worth visiting isn't it?! I was back in Port Arthur in early Feb this year myself for a few days (used to live in Hobart). You're way quicker at getting blogs posted than me :-)
Blogs from Caroline and Andy Hi, Reading your blogs now that Caroline and Andy have cut back on theirs....I have withdrawal symptoms. Don't take heat stress too lightly as I was in hospital on intravenous fluids in USA after feeling very unwell....Severe heat stress the doctor said. We are going back to USA in May....Yellowstone Park.....it snowed the last time we were there in the month of May. Wishing you safe travels and carry on enjoying your wonderful adventure. Your photos are brill. S & J
A Chip Off The Old Block! Yep, that sounds just like me bringing up the rear when there's water to wade through and rocks to climb! We tasted the fantastic pancakes too - it was certainly worth the diversion!! xxx Mum K
Tragic and Happy Scenes at Cataract Gorge Hi - we really liked Launceston but have mixed memories of the gorge - we saw a wedding taking place there which was lovely but the next day the area was closed off because a woman's body had been found. We hope the two events weren't connected! xxx Mum K
Hey you two, thanks for the Hockenheim comment. I'm amazed that you get a chance to read anybody else's stuff while you're out on the road!
Oh, your pictures bring back some memories of my year in Oz. I bought a Mitsubishi L-300 and chucked a double mattress in the back - it was great. Funnily enough I fondly remember the pronunciation of Launceston because I had a disagreement about it. 'How do you think it got its name in the first place,' I bellowed at a Tasmanian devil. That told him! Happy travels..

Hi Dar and Sar. Your weather looks about as good as ours! Have had loads more snow this past couple of days but still not as much as in Asker! Have just got back from a week in the mountains with Tara doing a bit of skiing. Had a great time but it's all back to work now. Berns off to Oslo tomorrow and then Holland on Tues for a couple of days so it will be quiet here.Lol! Thanks for the card. It arrived this morning. Glad you are still having such a great time. I feel like we are there with you sometimes thanks to the great blogs. Thanks for sharing all your experiences. Take good care and carry on laughing! Love Terri xXx
Hiya

If Paradise is Half as Nice ... Hi - we're pleased that you love Tassie, just like we did. Because I'm very sad I immediately burst into song (not a very pleasant sound!) and remembered when I saw Andy Fairweather-Lowe and Amen Corner singing that song at the Colston Hall in the year dot!! xxx Mum
That's Just Nut's really! Hi guys, nice photos Sarah, that unidentified sea creature must be poisonous, everything else is!! Glad you made the Nut, we had toditch our day out there as the weather was so bad, therewould have beenno point walking up the Nut as we would not have been able to seen a thing.......!! I am envious that you are in Tassie and we're not, but still we cannot grumble......
I love the Pademelons....
We did not do that road you were talking about, the west coast weather was bad so we skipped the West to enjoy more time on Cradle mountain, however as usual it was hard to get good information on the road conditions, however I am sure that you will make the right decision for you.
Have to go running out of battery, well the laptop is... not me!!
lots of love

Have fun and travel safe.
Hello Hello Hello Sar,
Yep we all believe that is your 1st encounter with hand-cuffs !!
Good to see your fishing skills are improving
Hope your both well
You'll just love South Western Australia ... it's fabulous! Hi guys, great to hear from you. What a shame our paths didn't cross in the end but there's always next time!
Fitzgerald River National Park is wowsers, you can go in from Hopetoun for a beautiful walk up East Mt Barren. There's no free camp spot at Hopetoun anymore though, even though Camps 5 says there is. The caravan park is tiny but lovely and the owners are very friendly. We loved Shannon National Park as a stopping place but the towns around that area are just fabulous, Donnybrook, Nannup, Margaret River, Augusta - all gorgeous. Cape le Grand is fabulous, Lucky Bay Campground is awesome with some great walks close by. Frenchmans Peak is worth the effort. Gosh, I want to back track and do it all again!!! Have a great time, I'll be reading your blogs with lots of interest. love Sarah and Darryl x x
Enjoy Tassie Enjoy your travels in Tasmania - we loved it down there. It is really worth having the pass for the National Parks, there are lots of great walks to do, and places to see. Loved your early morning photos of Melbourne too.
We head out of Perth in a couple of days , down south towards Albany - have you any special places to recommend we stop at on our way around to Esperance? Cheers Lynne and Chris
helllllloooooo Hello my lovelies, still having fab time I see. Pics are amazing still. The drinking koala made my eyes well up, I am such a softie when it comes to animals. Well we have had about 6 inches of snow in Ramsgate, great when its fresh and white but it has turned grey and slushy now and so very cold.We are all fine and dandy and I have a week off, yah.
Take care and see you this year sometime.

Wizzy Vacuum Cleaner Yep - I could do with that to surprise Tiger and get rid of some of her hairs!! (but we do love you, Tiger!) I was put in leg irons in the Port Arthur Prison but they let me out eventually! xxx Mum K
Welcome, come in, take a seat and enjoy the view!
We were lucky enough to be in a position to make one of our dreams come true and it's hard to believe that we can now say we've 'been there and done that! It was the sort of adventure that 'normal people' like us could only dream about, taking a year out of work and travelling around Australia in a caravan towed by a 4WD. Somehow though we managed to turn it into a reality and between April 28th 2009 and April 26th 2010 that's exactly what we did.
Our beautiful home and much loved cat in Moira, Derbyshire, UK were looked after by fami... full info
