Bravo! We are 21 days away from going to Australia. We are a familly of 4. My kids are 8 and 6 years old. We will be renting a camper van for 14 weeks. Anything we should know before getting there? Our blog address is www.mytb.org/parentbellemare but it is in frech.... It seem like you were able to put a blog entrie almost everyday... is the internet connection easy to get or were you saving your entries and posting them whenever you could get a connection? Any advice on what we should absolutely not miss??? Thanks a lot and good luck on your return.... it will be hard getting back to your old life and habit, that year trip surely changed you...

USO I got a picture of a USO too, but from a slightly different angle..... Thoroughly enjoyed Depot Beach, especially the kangaroos and the birds that shared it with us.... oh and those icecreams..... I think they were the biggest icecreams I have ever seen in my life...... the liquorice one was delicious...... kj xx
Definitely something for the next trip! Hi Gary, thanks for the tip. We'll definitely remember that one for the next trip. We're off to Puffing Billy at the weekend with our young cousins - we're very excited and hoping that the weather warms up in Victoria for us!!

Zig-Zag Definately do the Zig-Zag railway. We did and it was absolutely fabulous.
A tip. Talk to the engineer or fireman (Canadian term). See if you can ride in the engine on the way down. That makes it very, very special.
I really enjoyed your Australia post. It reminded me of my there. My blog is looking for travel photos. If you have the time, check us out a dirty-hippies.blogspot.com
Continued fun on your travels,
Heather
Wow! You certainly get around. The museum looked interesting. But the scenery is fantastic. Me & a mate walked from Cam to Nailsworth last week taking in the New Inn at Waterley Bottom, bout 15 miles. That was gruelling, but at least the temperature was probably only about 8 degrees C & . You must be having a great time & I expect you will want to go back again. Keep on rolling

Bathurst Ray is so jealous it has been his lifelong dream to get to Bathurst, as a matter of fact we have just decided to go next year 2011 and take our son and grandson. Take care Carole and Ray
Exciting drive! G'day peeps,
Drove this course myself and what a course it is!!! You can't imagine what it must be like at full tilt and even better when there on the bikes!
How nuts must that be ..lol..

Telstra Tower When we were in Canberra about 30 years ago I hung on tight to the inside rail inside the tower frozen with fear I couldn't move, you are both very fearless. Love Carole and Ray
Morning lovelies, I see you are still having great fun. The war Memorial was touching, good job Jan wasn't there she blubs really loudly at any sad bits and we have to hide her. Hope to see you this spring sometime, the old git is 60 in May and we are racing at Shaky, so pit party is in order, more than welcome as you know. Love to you both. I will so miss my early morning blog reads as I head off to work in the rain.
Take care

1966 Mustang ... That is the car my wife and I had when we got married along with a 69 Chevell with a 327 in it. The second week after the honeymoon (1983) my wife totaled the mustang and I sold the Chevell in hopes to keep it safe from her. The Mustang is my favorite car too!
Missed Opportunity! It was such a shame we were behind with our uploads - doing the two blogs on the same day with the same title and similar photos would probably have caused a few scratched heads!!! ;-)
Link Thanks for the link guys, it would be great to see you one last time before heading back to Blighty........ but understand if you cannot get any closer to Canberra again..... the last two nights have turned really cold again..... it is already 10.20 and the sun is only just appearing for the day.... it was a foggy start.

p.s. what sauce did you use for Darryls Thai Green Curry....?
Take your choice! We were waiting for a gas bottle but could quite easily have taken whatever we fancied if we were that way inclined! The security guards were a bit stressed and the weapon boxes were easily identified!!
Gorgeous! Funnily enough if you choose the right side of the bed to sleep on in the caravan you will wake up to a wombat each morning .... and I don't mean Dad!! x x x
Indeed he is good with wood but also with new race cars but boy is he going to need your help when you're back so good job your not going to be long now!!!
A little prayer - please god give Sarah the strength to resist buying one of those hats - Amen

Welcome, come in, take a seat and enjoy the view!
We were lucky enough to be in a position to make one of our dreams come true and it's hard to believe that we can now say we've 'been there and done that! It was the sort of adventure that 'normal people' like us could only dream about, taking a year out of work and travelling around Australia in a caravan towed by a 4WD. Somehow though we managed to turn it into a reality and between April 28th 2009 and April 26th 2010 that's exactly what we did.
Our beautiful home and much loved cat in Moira, Derbyshire, UK were looked after by fami... full info
